Interchangeable Parts

Can anyone tell me if parts off of my 2000 Expedition are interchangeable with a 97 Expedition. My 2000 took a crap on me but I found a 97 for sale and I replaced a few parts on my old one about a month ago so just wondering if I could take them off and put it on the 97. Thanks for any help.

The alternator and the steering gear box and the belt, and the power steering pump

they will all work and match up. im 98% sure they will.

Lumbee, the only things that are different between 2000 and 97 is:

- grille/bumper complex
- intake manifold and heads
- transfer case

Pretty much everything else will bolt right up. There were not a lot of physical changes, but there were a few. You might find a few wiring differences, but to list all of them would require a book to be written.

What is the difference in the heads?

The newer models have the PI heads. Better performaning heads than the older ones.

as in preformance improved, 5.4's got them in 99' and 4.6's got them in 2001 I believe

The 4.6l didnt gwt new heads til like 04 when they supposedly redesigned them to keep spark plugs from blowing

I have a 2001 expedition 4x4 could I get parts form my 2003 expedition like :

Transmission
Transfer case
Radiator
