I have about 50K miles on my 2010 Epxy. Only had it a few months, so Im not sure if it ever had any Trans Fluid flushes or Fluid/filter change.

I am looking to get this done, should I go for the Flush or the Fluid /filter change...and why?

Thanks

Was the vehicle used for towing, or used in harsh conditions a lot? If not, you should be good to go as I'm pretty sure the tranny fluid is good for 100K .
That being said, I had mine flushed at 60K as I tow a boat in the Summer. The service advisor at the dealer did not recommend the pan drop/filter change as the flush cleans off the filter as the fluid is pushed backwards through the system and the filter supposedly gets cleaned off. He even went back and confirmed that with the tech and the tech agreed. If you go the pan drop/filter replacement method, it will add about $200 to the bill.

Im sure the vehicle was used for towing, The hitch reciever has some paint rubbed off where the ball hitch slides in and out. How much towing or what was towed... im not sure of.

Ive read on this forum that many people change the trans fluid alot more often.. every 30K or so? is that just the older models?

With other vehicles ive only done the flush, but someone commented that when flushed, it pushes debris out from the filter and can push it into the transmission creating issues. I guess everyone has an option on the best way / timing to do things.

Bought a used (1 owner-elderly) 08 Expy EB with 27,000 miles on it last month and now have 30,000 miles on it. Service advisor has suggested transmission flush. Is this really needed at this time or could I wait to 50,000?

Thx

No need for trans service now unless the PO pulled a lot of heavy equipment around. By the sound of it though, and the low mileage, you should be good to go well north of 50K.
