Well it's obvious that bloodzero's brain has been baked far to long by the Arizona sun. Granted SONY may not be the best speaker out there, but for the price there a good bang for your buck. Now bloodzero the next time your in the market for high quality speakers, where price is no option, perhaps you should look at Infinity, Rockford Fosgate, or Bose before you buy the lower quality Boston's you bought in the past.

Just for the record SONY makes a very high quality product. I've never been disapointed in any SONY product I have purchased.

The shark fin is referring to what pronstar mentioned in an earlier post. Its the peice of plastic on the actual door above the main door panel. on the 97-02 models it looks like a little shark fin.

Toocivil: Please tell you didn't just use "bose" and high end in the same sentence.... heh
As for high end, where price is no object, you may want to look into: Rainbow their refernce 3 way passive runs $10k, Hertz, Brax, focal, Dynaudio, Scanspeak (they also make the Alpine F#1 drivers), DLS, Hybrid Audio Designs (designed by IASCA world champian, Scott Bawalda (sp?)).... Now, those are some high end speakers. The one's mentioned are just fine, just not really considered high end... and I apologize if I sound like an audio snob...

They might make high quality product. But there is higher with quite a few companies. On my list, Sony ranks as "iffy". Boston ranks at alright. Not the best, but still pretty good.

If I had the time to set up a component system in a 99 Expo doing all the new wiring and shit myself, I'd go with the Infinity Kappa Perfect Components.

Sony is good if you don't know car audio and you want it to sound better then stock. But if you want something that is better than Sony, there are a ton of better choices.

Live by this.
