what stereo system do I have ?

I just got a 2011 Max Limited and was wondering what kind of stereo I have ? Do I have a sub and what brand name is it. I do not have the Nav does anyone know what comes with this model ?

U prob have basic system and if u have a sub it will be in the driver side rear panel. The name on it will be "cheap ford"...lol. They aren't putting a quality name brand in them unless its a special package ordered. I think the FMF expedition got pioneer or Sony.

LOL ok that is what I thought. I just asked for about upgrading to a Nav system and they said about $8,000.00 lol

Just buy aftermarket with navigation and Bluetooth and whatever other option u want for $1200 or less depending how hard u want to ball out...lol

yes that will be my plan. Might not even go for a Nav system since my Galaxy phone has a great nav. Is there a after market in dash video that works better with our Expedition and Sync. I have seen this system "iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR Ford Radio Replacement Interface " have you had any experience with this ?

If you have a Limited then it has the "Audiophile" setup with subwoofer. The only option with the Limiteds is NAV or no nav.
It isnt a "brand" name system speaker wise but the head unit should be made by Clarion starting in 09 prior to that it was made by Pioneer.
If you already have Sync than all you need to do is swap the heads unit for a NAV unit. It should be plug and play after being programmed to the vehicle. They go for about $2K complete on ebay programmed. $8K is total BS.


P.S. The FMF edition got the same stereo as the Limiteds ( either NAV or non Nav ) same speakers, amp etc.... The FMF edition was basically an exercise in cosmetics only.

Oh well that is great news. I have seen the nav units on Ebay for not a bad price under a grand. The dealership I talk to today said the vehicle was not wired for the nav and would be lots of $ in labor. So you are saying I can get a ford nav unit of ebay and it will be capable of doing everything as if I got it of the lot ??

there isnt a headunit available that will work with the galaxy the only 1 ive seen close to it is a pioneer that has android capabilities i have a galaxy player (the android ipod) and all i can do is use the 3.5mm aux jack if i plug it into the usb it wont read any of my music someone let me know if im wrong but ive had no luck and i change hu about every 6 months when the new model comes out or if there is a feature i want and dont currently have

MMM well even my stock crappy stereo i can do blue tooth media streaming with my galaxy s2 phone. But with out a screen I cant see what other options are there. I wonder why stereos will not pick up the phone threw the cord ?

i dont kno y they wont im not using the bluetooth b/c u still have to control it with the phone/galaxy player which is dangerous while driving i have a screen but all it shows is the aux screen b/c the aux jack wont send pics only sound so as of now im stuck using the aux jack till someone adds the capabilities to there hu

Great thanks for the information that is good news. What I have seen the nav is pretty good. Is aftermarket units way better ??
