We have a 2017 Expedition EL Limited. The control panel for the HVAC and media systems has lost *all* function. No lights or indicators, no control of AC, heat, fan speeds, temperature, etc., along with no AC compressor function. Same for the media/stereo.....still plays, but no response to any controls. The touch screen "functions" but does not affect any changes.....not for the climate controls, nor the audio system. The steering wheel controls still work for the sound volume, search, seek, etc.
For a few times, stopping the engine, and restarting would "reset" everything and it was good for a short while. Finally, all function of the panel is dead.
I did a battery disconnect for 30 minutes; as well as removing #9 fuse to reset the SYNC system. This got things back up and working...... for a few minutes. Then dead again.
Interwebs info suggests maybe the control panel assembly, or perhaps the "HVAC control module."
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this?..... what is the recommended next step?.....what have others found to be the solution?
