I am looking at either a red top or a yellow top. Cant decide on which one to go with. Its for a 97 5.4 4X4. Not takin off road much just pulls my boat(when its not freezing out) and my daily driver.

IMO: Red top is the good all around daily use or abuse battery that will last. aka the "starting" battery.

The Yellow (and blue essentially) are also good for all around daily use and will last. These will do better if you run the truck off and drain the battery often. aka the "deep cycle" (or marine) battery. (with the blue top comes stainless hardware if I'm not mistaken.)

I'm pretty sure the Optima site goes into decent depth in terms of selecting the proper battery.

I have dual red tops wired parallel. Back when I though about adding a winch, I was considering one red top and one blue top to have the best of both worlds, but I'd have to change the wiring setup in order to really acheive that and the winch really isn't a priority anymore.

blue tops are deep cycle. semis boats rvs. something thats going to pull a lot energy out of. red tops are good all around batterys. put them on all vehicals. and yellow tops are both. they have good quick starts and allow you to run lights or winch or stereo (like me stereo and lights) with out the worrys of a dead battery. i just need a yellow top. on my list for new up grades.

Will changing to a red top help eliminate draw from my tv's when bass hits? It seems everytime the bass hits the tv has lines going through it and seeing that I have the Tracvision satellite and 6 tvs I think its too much for the oem battery?

i would add a cap to your subs that should handle the problem but a second battery or a good optima or orbital will help as well
