I've been having problem's with my Expedition's CD changer. I have the model with the gray eject button. I purchased a magazine for it 2 months ago off Ebay. I put my CD's in the magazine and tried to play them, but the CD changer would go from one CD to the next, and when it was done, would say I have an empty magazine, even though CD's were in it. I tried with 6 CD's in it, 3 CD's in it, and even 1 CD in it. It would always tell me empty magazine. I thought it might have been the magazine, so I went out and purchased another one. It arrived today, and I am having the same exact problem with it. Could it be that I am buying the wrong style magazine for the CD changer? Or could my CD changer be broken? Thanks.

Photo's of the magazine's I purchased:

I would venture to guess that the CD changer is malfunctioning. Sounds as though the changer is not recognizing your disks. This could be something as simple as the lense is out of alignment, or could just be that your changer is no more. Either way, take it to an audio shop, get them to take a look, and have them make a suggestion, or just find one from a junk yard and replace it.

CD changer

Do you use copied CD's? If you use peel and stick labels on the CD's the heat generated can cause the glue to soften and gumb up the works. That is in writing in Fords manuals.

Thanks for your help. I'll take it to my local audio shop. Hopefully its something they can repair.
