I am looking at buying a 2007 Expedition 4x4 with 97,000 miles.
Are there any known problems or issues with these vehicles around this mileage?
Overall would you say expeditions pretty reliable?

Thanks I appreciate any input.

Check exhaust manifolds, Just traded my 07 in with exhaust manifold leak. 5.4 liters are known to have this issue around 100,000 miles. Replaced both manifolds on my 06 f150 5.4 l.

huh, the V-10 is very well known for this, hardly hear about any 5.4s having that issue.

No one mentioned the biggest TSB out there for those. The trans update, if it hasn't been done I wouldn't touch it especially towing! The 07-08s were test beds for the F-150s.

make sure the spark plugs were changed as that can be expensive and the exhaust manifold leak, my 07 had that when I sold it at 70k miles. also make sure the heat and ac work on all settings and levels they had blend door issues also.

Get one with receipts that show the plugs have been changed or buy a 2008 and up..

If it's a limited then make sure the fans work on all speeds..
Check the window switches. and 12v outlets.. Those seem to burn out some.
Also you might want to time how long a newer ones hatch takes to open and then time the ones you're looking at to see how "strong" the motor is..

Don't plan to spend more than $14,000 on that year and mileage too..

Since you're in Ohio I can assume you're not too far, but keep an eye out at Motorcars of Lansing in Lancing, MI... They have some very good prices and they're really good about taking care of their customers..

I bought mine there, I had them take it to the Ford dealer for inspection. That's your best bet in reality..
