'00 Expedition EB and since I bought used a few months ago was wondering if these items are illuminated when the lights are on at night. Mine obviously do not.

1) Seat Memory
2) Side mirror adjuster
3) Dial on dash to turn on low beams and parking lights

Thanks

On the 03-06 they do not (well, not sure about the seat memory), so my guess is no.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

my seat position does not light up, nor do the mirror switches...maybe they should, but they don't.

however, my headlight switch does light up, all icons are green, and the foglight icon is amber.

Thanks. As I type this I almost remember mine being lit to. However, I normally keep mine on the auto setting. If you put yours on auto does the dial still light up b/c mine does not. I'll have to check if I just have it turned to the headlight postion if it lights up then. Interesting?

Just tried the Expy headlight dial. The only thing that illuminates on the dash is the fog lamp indicator when I turn those on. Other than that the dial nor do the markings for headlights, parking lights, auto postion or off position light. How do you access the bulb. Do you remove the black plate only. I tried to pull the knob off but no luck. Guess that would not work since you have to pull it out to turn on the fog lights and it would always pop off. Any ideas? tks

The dial itself does not light up on the 03-06 Expys, but the Auto, Parking, and Headlights should light up (not sure if Off does as well.)

I'll post up how to take it out in a little bit, though for the 03-06 Expys, you can just pry it out.

Any idea how to remove the black cover. I have a small slot in the bottom of it and I have tried sticking a small flathead in there to release it but all it does is tilt and I can't get it to unhook or pop off the dash. The dial does not come off since you have to pull it up for the fog lights so it is not like the heater dials. Any ideas. Is this a pic of an '00 EB? Do you have adjustable pedals? Do those buttons illuminate as well. tks

ok, stick the screwdriver in the little tab, once the whole switch tilts, grab it, and pull straight out.

also...for the bad news, from looking through the hole in the switch, it looks like it has soldered leds in it...may not be able to replace it.

If it's anything like the window switch problem, the LEDs themselves aren't the problem. It's more so panel. If you take out the switch, try to see if you can get to the panel itself and look for any burnt marks. While it's out, clean it with parts cleaner. Could just need a good cleaning.

Thanks for all the replies. Went to a few local yards today and finally found one that had the switch. $45 later, popped mine out in their lot and put theirs in and good to go. Advance Auto wanted about $110 for a new one. The used one is just fine:D
