I have a 98 expedition EB with no third seat and no holes visible to add a third seat. I would like to no if it is possible to add a hird
seat with the tools needed under the cargo mat
I know that there are third seat kits available in the aftermarket, that use non-Ford seats. I don't know if they offer seat belts or shoulder harnesses, however.
Short of replacing the floorpan, at a stratospheric cost, there is no way to incorporate the attachment points necessary for a factory third seat.
Are you sure that the rear has no attachment points? The attachments for my rear seat in my '98 EB are not holes for bolts, they are hook type pins in a well (four of them) . The seat is "hooked" into the front two, and then dropped down onto the rear two.
I really can't imagine that Ford would take the effort to make two different body styles (two different lines) of the Exby simply to accomodate a rear seat.
