Hey - we got our Expy about 2 weeks ago for the wife and absolutely love it. It is a Limited 4x4 with the 302A package plus 22" wheels, 2nd row bucket seats, tow package, rear entertainment, and the roof cross bars. Shadow Black body with the Medium Stone interior. A few notes:

- I lifted the wipers to clean the windshield and the arms are loose. They work fine in the rain so I didn't notice till I touched them. We have a major road trip coming up in a few weeks so I will get them checked out or look up how to tighten them myself.

- Our '16 Explorer that we traded in on the Expy had some poorly aligned body panels...the front quarter panel fitment was way off. The body on the Expy seems to be very well put together and the black paint is well done.

- This Expy has the 22's but not the CCD so it rides like a boat which is what we wanted. Our Explorer Limited AWD rode on 20's and it felt like a sports car compared to the Expy.

- Had to remove the roof cross bars in order to clear the garage door arm.

- We haven't used the rear entertainment system yet...sounds like it is a bit confusing. We weren't looking for it but with the limited inventory here in Atlanta (most of the trucks are 2wd) we took this one with it.

- I am a huge Waze user so I am excited other people are using it through Sync.

- We needed more size due to a lot of upcoming school trips to other states. Stuck with Ford because my wife is a runner and she loves not having to take a key with her when she runs. We never remove the key...just use the keypad on the door to get in and out of the car. Its the small things sometimes!

Small point: if you have the 22's, you have CCD...the only way you get one is with the other, and CCD is included in 302a.

Sounds like you're enjoying the new ride, congrats!

Along the lines of loose wipers, does anybody else notice that the drivers side wiper blade sits at some crazy angle? Mine does not sit on the defrost strips like it should; it crosses them. The end tip of the wiper is maybe 1/4" from the edge of the windshield glass while the other end of the wiper is too high. I asked my dealer to fix that and they showed me all the other Expys on the lot had the same issue. It's like the dog leg in the driver's wiper blade is too steep. I thought about removing the wiper arm and trying to bend it in a vise but haven't gotten around to that yet.

Thanks for pointing that out aggiegrad05 - I was going off the window sticker and it says nothing about CCD. I thought that was a Platinum only thing. Are there any controls for interacting with the CCD?

Rumline - the drivers side wiper blade looks completely normal on ours...just loose if you lift it up!

Pop the hood, lift the plastic cap where the arm connects to the motor, you'll be able to tighten it up right there.

There's quite a few body misalignment issues aswell.

Won't list them as to not get people looking and stressing over them, but one of the common ones I found on numerous was the passanger hood, light, and fender seam. Found offset and overlap on 9 on one dealers lot alone. The joys of automation and union labor.

Ours went back for tailgate adjustment, offset to the drivers side and misaligned so that the drivers side was inside the rear lights and passenger side stood proud of the rear lights.

Anyone else notice how the hood wobbles and flexes when passing semis? And thats not just an Expy issue, Yukon does it as well, guess its the super light thin aluminum sheet metal flexing. First time it happened I stopped and checked my hood was properly latched :)

Better be careful pointing out these issues.... some might get their feelings hurt lol.

The exposed light housing corners is the most easily identifiable flaws... and once I saw it, it bugs the shit out of me for the price I paid fitment issues are found. Our first 2018 which was returned I made the dealer fix both headlights and it looks so much better. Haven't had time on this one to do it yet.

Went to my local dealer yesterday to get the wipers checked - hurricane coming our way! The driver side wiper was loose...a small metal piece had fallen out of the slot on the wiper arm shaft. It was epoxied in place and the wiper arm feels normal now. The passenger side was fine.

I ordered and bought a new 2015 Expedition Limited 4x4.

When I took delivery at 2 miles - the right rear corner of the hood was lower than the fender (shims had to be applied under the hinge).

The left front wheel opening moldingg was not fully attached and sticking out, and the black plastic nails inside the wheel opening were not seated, and inserted crooked. The molding at the lower rear edge of the left front fender (behind the wheel) was also not fully attached and crooked.

I was amazed at the poor quality assembly, the lack of quality control inspection from the factory, and the poor pre-delivery inspection done by the dealer’s service department.

Ford has also issued five safety recalls for the 2018 Expedition - not a good sign.

I sounds as thought the assembly quality has not improved on the new models.

its a $50,000 truck, you can pay up to $80,000 like i did, but it is just a $50,000 truck with $30,000 in xtras! this is how $50,000 trucks fit together. if you want precise gaps, get an X5, but you will pay the same for half the vehicle. i am completely satisfied with body panel fitment. nothing outrageous and much better than our explorer platinum.

This is a really good way of putting it.

Shame bolt on basics and trim add so much cost.

IE; "Bells and Whistles" or as my girlfriend, now fiance put it...."apparently, some people like having all the bells and whistles" This said as I quickly eschewed the basic xlt for what I bought<LMAO>!!

I am surprised that people are complaining about fitment AFTER they took delivery. WHY? I know that we're human and can't see all the first time we looked at the truck we bought but geez, didn't you even pay attention to construction build quality? If I had seen what some of you describe, I would have spent more time looking at smaller luxury suvs since I would think outward flaws reveal a qc issue which intuitively says there could be unseen issues as well!

I share the sentiment. When the wife says jump, I say which bridge.... I know my parachute works just fine and I land safely and live to get action on a regular basis with her happy.

I feel like I went over my Navigator pretty well but still missed two places on the paint, one of which came off with a wet finger back at the dealership (probably happened on the drive home idk) and another paint issue on the inside door frame of a passenger door (which was a repair already done before the dealer got it). I saw these the same day I picked up the car but I had much better lighting at 1pm than I did at the dealer at 9am. Oh, there was also a rubber grommit missing that I noticed when they did the door frame repair, they just took one off the other truck they had in stock. Long story short with all the square footage a vehicle of this size has I can completely understand missing some things.
