So I have 103,000 miles on my 2015 EL Limited so far with pretty much zero issues. My front heated/cooled seats stopped working after I had a mouse in the interior for a day. I have to chase that down but my truck is fully loaded with everything the Platinum has except the CCD suspension and so far everything works perfectly including the second row heated seats, folding mirrors, power running boards, power lift gate, 4wd system, sunroof, etc.

With all the posts of various systems failing I just wanted to throw out another data point. For the record I never installed a catch can. I do have the truck Krown sprayed once a year. Will be getting all the fluids changed here in a month or so, but so far I’m thoroughly impressed with the reliability of my truck. This year alone will be a total of 13,000 miles of towing a 5,000 lb travel trailer too so it’s not exactly being babied on the road.

There's an old phrase some of oldest buddies subscribe to..."run 'em hard, (reducing maintenance intervals) they run strong, run 'em "slow" (kid gloves) they run slow.

Glad to hear your experience, and equally pleased you took the time to share with the group.
Thing still looks New!

To be clear, I'm not advocating beating the hell out of it, all the time, but I am very **** about maintenance, and lessening the intervals, based on how you drive your machine. As long as you're honest with yourself, there should be no surprises, if the vehicle's built well. No manufacturer reasonably expects the consumer to constantly torture test their machine, so intervals are based on "normal" operation.

The tires are BF Goodrich KO2’s. One of the best tires made in my opinion. Have had them on my Toyota Land Cruiser and now the EL and they are absolutely my favorite tire.

Yeah I drive around 45,000 miles a year.

Good news for a recent Expy Max owner. Ours has the 3.5 and as a new Ford person I take it yours is a V8? Still trying to educate myself as we haven’t owned a Ford since buying a 1978 Futura 2dr Sedan. I’ve owned three new Fords, ‘76 Pinto, ‘77 Pinto Station Wagon and the Futura. All had the 2.3 4cyl engines. I’ve been told the 3.5 EcoBoost is a great engine worldwide, that’s why I was asking if yours is a 3.5 or V-8.

I'm interested in the size. Stock 275/55r20 or did you bump up the sidewall a bit?

Well I'm glad you mentioned that you've never installed a catch can, I wasn't sure if I wanted to peruse the headache of trying to convince my employer to add a catch can to the 3.5L EcoBoost Vans and I wanted to see what higher milage owners whom never installed it have to say about reliability. Thanks for the info & your truck looks great for the milage...

Do you have a clear bra installed or are we just not seeing the rock chips in the pics?

* V8s in the Expedition ended in 2014. 2015 and on were 3.5 Ecoboost V6. Mine is a 3.5 V6 Ecoboost.

*The V8 was not an Ecoboost. No turbos, different engine altogether.

*No clear bra, I installed one and messed it up and removed it. No rock chips yet. Body is still perfect except rear bumper plastic which got nailed by the bucket on a front loader I was hauling that slid forward on the trailer when I braked. Long story.

*Tires are 275/55 R20 and I seriously love them. Can’t recommend them enough.

There is NOTHING in the world for growing grass like Michigan Peat...

I grew up on an apple orchard in Ann Arbor....

Muddy,

Beautiful truck and great report. I've got 52K on my '17 and the engine has run flawlessly....

You can still get a V8 on the F150's but not the Expedition. Shame too, cause from 2018 on up their 395 horsepower. I heard in 2020 Ford's bringing back the Bronco, wonder if it's going to be full sized like the pre 96 models, or smaller like the Explorer. Anybody have any pics yet? Didn't mean to highjack this thread, just curious. And is the new Bronco going to replace the Expedition?

I got a pretty good feeling it'll be a 4 door mid sized SUV/crossover... powered by a 4 & 6 cylinder engines & probably fwd with "optional AWD"

Reason I say that is cause that's what sells, big body full size coupe trucks are badass but the reality is they wont sell in this market.

Also the auto makers have obviously ruined so many great classics model names with ****** cars for example:
Dodge charger
Dodge Dart
Jeep Cherokee
Mini cooper
To name a few

Some of these companies are asking for bankruptcy, Ford right with them. I just read Ford stock is at its lowest in something like 20 years, they plan to discontinue all cars, and they took the V8 away from many vehicles, plus they have a new fleet wide European design language. Expedition sales have been low the last few years, they saw improvement in retail for 18’ but overall sales declined again.

Except for the Camaro, I like the look of the Challenger and new Mustang. The Camaro fenders look too Coke bottle. Not to mention, how can you not like a car that has over 700 horsepower, like the hell cat. Like everything, styles come back around every 30-40 years. Let's just hope that those god awful humpbacked cars like Pinto, and Gremlin never make a comeback. Leave them along with men's platform shoes back in the 70's where they belong!

I just reread your post Habbibie about Ford. I work with Ford mobility here in SF. I won't go into any detail, but explains why things are off at work. Big companies have ups and downs. I think Ford will come out on the other side bigger than ever. They almost went under twice in the past, and came out swinging, and better than ever. Anybody old enough here to remember 1949Ford? maybe like Sears, they'll be on the chopping block. We'll see.

We will see, they’ve made some bad moves and good. They are working on a new family of V8 (project 7X) engines behind closed doors. I don’t think they are spending millions on V8 development if we won’t see them in any consumers vehicles so that will be cool. I think discountinuing cars is a weak move.

Nice travel trailer. Is that a Mini-Lite? I've been eyeing the 2509S to replace my 2018 R-pod, but I think it's too soon after buying the R-Pod last December. :)
