Just an FYI for others with a 2015-2017 XLT with the factory power adjust & heated mirrors that would like to add some tow mirrors. Part # AM-914877170 (AM auto parts) which are the power adjust, heated, and signal tow mirrors installed great with no wiring necessary. Everything works, including the signals.

Nice!! These are on the list.
Pretty sure I am reading correctly but you DID NOT have signal mirrors to begin with?

I wish there were a set of mirrors that amber lights on the edge of the mirror facing forward. I drive on a lot of skinny dark country roads.
I’ll likely just fold the driver mirror in.

Are the puddle lights the same as factory? Already bought LEDs for my factory mirrors would like to pop those in these.

Wish Amazon carried them. They carry the Trail Ridge brand but they are $380 for the signal models.

Yes sir, correct, I did not have signal mirrors to begin with. I didn't pop open the puddle light to look, so I can't say for sure, but from the outside they look the same.

Dorman F150 chrome replacement caps fit if you want some reflectiveness for oncoming traffic

Annoyingly they're actual replacements not stick-ons so you have to take the black ones out. Despite other recommendations, I'd suggest destroying them instead of trying to take them out intact if you go that route, though, else you run a good risk of breaking mirror glass

I despise CHROME!!!!!
And certainly will never add it in any form or fashion to my vehicles.
Pre80s cars and trucks I can deal with true chrome front and rear bumpers.
Other than that dear goodness I can’t stand it. Especially the fake plastic stuff.
I hate it so much I am half tempted to replace my door handles with these to get rid of the ridiculous faux chrome strip in the door handle.

It has its uses.

Plain black sticking out into traffic is practically invisible at night

This is true I’ll find another way. Even if it is just just folding in the driver’s mirror on those tight roads.
Maybe adding an amber clearance marker to the housing somehow.

Depending if your truck is white or a lighter color you could buy a cap and spray it to match. Lightly scuff and prime then spray away.

These are black, right? And plug-n-play? Will they auto-fold (probably asking too much!)?

Black and plug and play.

They got a new powerfold (and telescope too iirc) version available

+$500 - 600ish (triple the basic price)

HA!

Black, I remember thinking the same thing when growing up as a child of the '60s, as I was being ‘asked’ to polish all the chrome on my Dad's '64 Merc. Even with that model there was a lot of the shiny stuff, but thru those trials, I grew to idolize how beautiful it looked when it was polished to a gem-like lusture.

Fast forward to the photo in my avatar. I could never achieve the same gleam in the chrome on my T-Bird that I could in my early days with a can of Brasso and some elbow grease.

Hey Black, if you like the black door handles, Ford puts them on the SSV police models. And the way the cops drive these things, you can always find them in junk yards. Probably get all for for $75.

Back then, it was really chrome. Heavy, hard, and shiny. Today, 'chrome' is most likely polished aluminum, a foil sticker, or silver paint. Almost no one uses chrome any more because it is expensive, and the EPA has a hard on for the chroming process.

OP, could you take a photo of your truck from further away? Curious how they would look on my ‘17.

These are the greatest thing I've done to my Expy for towing. I didn't get the ones with the turn signals. But the puddle lamps work. I also bought the Ford convex glass for the passenger side mirror. Mine came standard with flat glass on both mirrors.
And they're tough. My wife has hit a mailbox and a phone pole with the passenger mirror and it just knocked the upper cover loose.

Great. I posted a question asking if there were any replacement tow mirrors for my ‘17 Expedition Limited. Was told no. Do these extend and retract as well as fold or are they a fixed length? If they extend what do you use for a switch for that purpose?

OK, now I see. “Manual telescoping” according to the printed description. That’s OK.

Just to confirm, the power fold still works?
