I have a 2010 EL KR that I need to replace the driver's side mirror, due to the "auto fold" function giving up. Got a replacement from a 2011 and was swapping them out when I noticed that the wires in the mirror wiring harness are in a different order on the 2011 compared to my 2010 mirror (both are Ford OEMs). Plugged the replacement in before installing it to see if it works, and as far as power adjustment, the mirror will only go left & right, NOT up & down.
Sooo, I thought about disassembling the two mirrors and swapping out my original (2010) mirror wiring loom into the replacement 2011 mirror, but I can not figure out how to get the post/swivel part of the mirror housing apart. There's no obvious clips or screws I can see in the interior of the mirror housing that would facilitate complete disassembly.
Has any of you fine gents conquered this problem before and can help out and point me in the right direction?
Thank you!
