Concur ! "All season tires" are mostly marketing hype. The best you can hope for is a couple of deep, continuous channels around the tread that will let water out (prevent hydroplaning).

Yes ! There have been studies that show "winter" tires (not M/S or "all season") on a 2WD vehicle perform better on hard packed snow and ice (what typical driver encounter the most) than any other tire on a 4WD vehicle !
By "winter" ... Not sure how MrWizard determine that? By the snowflake rating? That's how I do. Also I look at manufacturer rating for all the different road conditions.

haha, you’re right. Not in the snow yet. Once we FINALLY get some in Tahoe I’m going to take a ride up there.

I had the geos on my Sequoia they were lousy. Loud, wore out fast and sprung leaks. Too lightly built for the larger heavier vehicles. Toyota puts them on the RAV 4 as a factory tire. I wouldn’t recommend them for a full sized rig.

The tire I am impressed with and ran on my Old Sequoia was the BFG Advantage sport. Its a hybrid A/T tread and was pretty decent in the big Sierra snow storms and quite good on the wet. They will likely be my replacement choice for the stock 22’s on my platinum

I swap out the whole thing to keep the 22” looking like new.
I bought a set of 20” wheels off of eBay with TPMS and delivery.
Bought a set of Toyo Celcius for winter only. Well worth it, and most will never have to buy another set of tires.

Did you end up trimming the rear axle shafts so that the F150 wheels fit, or are you running the rear wheels with no center caps?

Everyone's tire needs are different and sometimes different batches of tires wear differently ... But I had these (18 inch) and I wasn't impressed. If you were that's great I'm not disputing that. I needed a more aggressive tread so I went to Kumho Road Venture and will go to Falken Wildpeak AT3W next. Light truck version. I do have to put up with more road noise.

At $335+ per tire, I think I'll pass...
[emoji23] yeah, didn't look at this price on tire rack! They won't be that much by the time I need them and I certainly wouldn't pay that either... Also, I've found if you want that brand, Firestone stores are able to give the best deals w/price match and have freshest tires in stock in my experience.

Ended up getting the Continental Terrain Contact A/Ts. So far I’m impressed how they handle. The ride is a little rough but I think they get better once the side ways start to flex.

Discount tire about dumped the car on hit hitch due to how they had it lifted/support.

That is a good looking tire. I need to keep those in mind for my wife’s infinity. I hope they serve you well.

How do you like the Continentals so far? Have you had a chance to use them in the snow, and if so, how do they perform? Looking forward to your feedback on these as I've been looking to install them on our Expy! They look great by the way!

Thanks for posting pics. How is the ride noise? And how is the snow traction. I too am disappointed with the Hankooks. I was embarrassed to have to switch to 4x4 low just to traverse a relatively flat ski area parking lot!

Do you have a pic of the vehicle with the Conti's? Traction and noise are important, but to me, so are aesthetics. I really like the factory polished 22" wheels, but not sure how they look when paired with a more aggressive tread. I'm sure you've all seen them, but here are the factory ones for comparison.

Put these Hankook Dynapro AT2 at the beginning of winter and have been impressed here in Colorado so far. Not noisy or rough that I’ve noticed. We got them in 305/45r22 but they do come in 285/45r22.

Anyone running the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season II’s on the 22’s???

Tire Rack did a 3 way comparison with Continental and Michelin on an Audi Q5 and it seems to perform very well for what I value (quiet, comfortable, solid handling, good wet traction, decent for light snow). I’m just not sure how it would perform on a bigger truck based SUV.

I’ve never owned Pirelli but have always wanted to try them out.
