Does anybody actually know where the slack/wear shows up on the seat tracks. I replaced mine last week. Problem was fixed, but I can't locate the source of the problem.

This is my original. New one is in the truck. I'd like to know more about the problem to see if there's something that can be done to this old one to make it a viable replacement down the road.

My goodness, man, I'm trying to solicit information from people who may know what part of the seat base develops slack. I can't easily discern that from flexing it. It clunks during turns side to side.

Never had that happen to me.
Is the movement along the plane of the worm gears (fore and aft)? If so, I would check the integrity of the worm gear mounting.
Like I said, never seen this so I have no idea how all that crap under the seat works.

From reading the supplied link, looks like you (we) might be able to insert a U-shim under the front inner track to keep the 'shift' forward stable. Then tighten mounting bolts.

I don't have experience with these tracks but I read where they had a problem with teeth wearing out and missing.
My brother has the same problem. Sorry just had to say that.

Thank you so much folks. I'll play around with some of the ideas shared. And yes, mainly accelerating/deccelerating, but a little sideways action also.

Late to the game...
The power seat track slop was very common with the C5 generation of Corvettes. GM issued several TSB’s that had the dealer replace the track (no recall). The problem remained. It occurred in the 1999 Corvette coupe that I bought new.
There was an aftermarket company that provided a seat track “fix” and upgrade to the original tracks that dramatically improved them - and prevented the slop from returning.
I don’t have the information now but if you do an online search for C5 seat track play, you should quickly find information about the company and fix (I think some of the aftermarket companies carried the repair kit).
My point - the company may also make a repair kit or replacement parts for you used track, which would enable you to repair it.
I have a 2015 Expedition Limited 4x4, and the power driver seat is beginning to have slop in it. It will slightly move forward or backward, upon acceleration or deceleration. In about one week of driving daily, the front of the seat will slowly tip forward, so that I periodically have to raise the front of the seat. I have the extended Ford warranty and may try to have the dealer replace the track. I don’t want to mess with it myself.
