The front parking aid seems to peg red at about 12 inches in our garage. As our 2020 Max only has a few inches clearance between the garage wall (Front) and garage roll down door (Rear), the 12 inch front parking aid warning is not that useful for parking with front and rear clearances under a couple inches.

Any one know if the front parking aid distance is adjustable?

Or

A good type brand for external parking aid

Thanks

I'm fairly certain it is not adjustable. I dug around with Forscan for a while.

You can defeat it full time, or just push the button as you get in.

You can buy a 2”x8” board and cut it to your desired length, then insert (after drilling a hole) a bicycle fiberglass pole with a red flag on it (designed to be attached to the rear spindle nut on the bicycle), and put it on the garage floor with the board against the wall / floor lip. You can slowly pull up until the front bumper touches the pole and you see the flag move.

Wife played with the various 360 front camera views and with one of the views she can repeatedly get within 2 inches of the garage wall. So Ford did it right ... we just had to learn how to use the 360 front view selections and ignore the parking assist green yellow red displays

I literally use the 360 cam all the time in tight spots, it takes away all the doubt on pinching it up against curbs and stuff down low that you can't see.

This is a new to me feature I’ll never want to go without in future vehicles:

I use the 360 camera with a reflective sticker in the front and rear of the vehicle on the garage floor. When entering the garage I engage the cameras. The stickers were placed such that the bumpers are right in between the two stickers. I can engage reverse or switch camera views to see the rear sticker and ensure I’m far enough in for the door to close but leaving space to walk past the front. Stickers are from Home Depot.
