Does anyone have any use of these on Expys? Likes/dislikes? I did a search and found only one topic but no real help. I've read a bit on the Viper and see a lot of bad reviews about it not working. Drone seems to be the same thing just 2X the price.

from what i've read...there's a monthly or yearly fee for that feature...better off not being that lazy to use your phone and just use the remote it comes with.

can we get a lint to what it is?

It's a car alarm that works with your smartphone.

Thats what I've been thinking. It seems more like a novelty (thats broken). A pricey monthly service charge to unlock my car is not appealing either. At first I thought it was a pretty cool idea but after thinking about it and talking with a buddy all I see is something that is more problem then it is worth. I was just wondering if anyone here was using one or had one and what they thought about it.

Yeah the fees are little outrageous especially when you find out how often it fails (or so the reviews state). I to was considering it until thoughts of dropping it off at the dealer, stolen phone, etc. I'm not seeing it as a viable option now.

not worth it to me...if you have a mile radius...do people really need it on their phone? no. but if you they want to floss and WASTE $$$$...thats the perfect tool....

While shopping for a remote start/alarm system I too thought about the smart start feature. The app fees were a little disappointing, I thought. The system I ended up going with can easily be upgraded to the smart start if I ever wanted to do that.

Right now my viper 5601 has a range of 2000 feet, so for most instances I don't think that I would use the smart start at all. Possibly if I were flying for my job and leaving my vehicle at the airport, but other than that I think that 2000 feet is more than adequate range.

I dont want this one. Its just to complicated. Plus I pocket dial people all the time with my "smart phone." Last thing I need is to start accidentally unlocking my car from my pocket.

I would like to have a remote start system though. Just not on my phone… Great for winter.

I have this in my Expedition and I think it works great. Its $50 for the year which is roughly 0.13 cents a day. I already have a remote for my Pathfinder and didnt want to add another remote to my keychain. Im also going to install it on my wifes car and I can control her car from my phone also. Imagine trying to carry 3 alarm remotes on your keychain. and the price of the actual alarm/remote start isnt that expensive.

just read on viper.com that if the installer knows what theyre doing...one remote can work 2 cars...
