Hello all! I've tried to figure this out from old posts here, and I'm just confused. I'm not so much of a car girl, and the shorthand and numbers defeat me.

Here's my real question. I've just bought a 2015 Expedition four wheel drive, ther short one not the EL. 95% of its life will be spent on road and highway pavement.

AND, the other 5% will be on farm tracks and greasy clay fields trying to catch up to a pack of coyote hounds. So ground clearance and surviving quick travel over bumps, rocks, and holes is important. (Mainly I use a Jeep, but there will be times the Expedition will be getting dirty instead.)

So, here's what I THINK I want:

1. To lift and level the Expedition a bit; and

2. to put on taller/wider tires, larger diameter wheels, or some combination of both. I've been looking for a "will it rub" general thread and having no luck.

As to the lift, I'd prefer not to do anything that much changes the original geometry of the transmission and suspension.

It still has the original wheels and tires, 265 / 70 / R17. That is I think a 31 inch diameter tire. I know there are usually plenty of takeoff wheels, tires, and full sets from Expeditions and F150s out there on Craigslist and FB marketplace, so there are lots of easy choices.

I confess I like the look of a lift and bigger tires, but I want to make a practical decision, not an aesthetic or emotional one.

Have at me!

I am in the same situation. Only thing I can find are shock spacers from Readlylift. supposedly allows 33" tires without clearance issues. As far as wheels and tires go, I scored a set of 2012 Raptor wheels and mounted stock size tires on it for now. Personally I think the truck needs more final drive gear, but thats proving to be expensive.

Does that have the spacers on it? How much is the lift, and how big the tires?

No, my truck is not lifted. Stock size tires on Raptor wheels.

according to details on the readylift web page, lift is 3" front and 2" rear and accommodates 33" tires

Other pricier option is Icon coilovers and UCAs. Pricey but the quality and capability is great. Also adjustable ride height (adjustable springs) and on the fly adjustable dampening (I believe 6 knob settings). I’ve got this setup w 34s on the wife’s 2015 Expy. Kept icons factory ride height setting on the shocks but will likely go up about an inch more. IMG_8996.jpeg

This is the first person I've seen actually running Icon on a 3rd gen! I'd love to hear more details. Also what rear shocks did you have originally? I have an EL with the nivomats in the rear and I don't know what to do

Love to hear your feedback on the Icon kit. Not many people out there are running that setup but appears to be the best!!

I am running the full icon kit(2.5 with adjustable resi.) on my 17 with the icon UCAs. no problems so far and its been a few years. Mostly driving on Forestry roads in Oregon and more recently in the desert in Arizona. They handle potholes and bumps better at high speed.
