I just watched a report on CNN regarding a faulty cruise control switch that several insurance companies say started fires, burning two houses down (Expeditions were parked inside the garages) and one fatality.
The report stated that the cruise control switches, because they are always on, even when the car is turned off and key is remvoed from the ignition, was the cause in those cases. They went on to report that there have been 500+ reported cases involving Ford cars and trucks, mostly Expeditions and F150.
Has anyone experienced this on this forum? Ford has recalled several model years of the Expedition, but not all model years, even though the switch appears in model years that weren't recalled.
My suggestion to read the report on CNN, here

On another note, my 99 Expedition has been experiencing noticeable misfiring or stumbling at around 35-40mph. I let my foot off the gas and then back on it and it then disappears. ANyone experience this and know a solution?
