Heres a nice trick.

Never let the tank go below half full. When you hit the pumps you wont feel as bad.

I know but it was a busy week. Now I just walk.......not.

I'm just glad I'm blessed enough to be able to afford it.

Right after Katrina, I had a $93 fill-up. The real PIA is the pumps that are set to shut off at $50 no matter what. Then they have to reset the pump, swipe your card again, and complete the fill-up.

I was on empty the other day and went to $100.00. That is where the pump was set to shut off. It was full, but I usually try to top off. At $100.00 I didn't bother to top off. I think that I could have gotten about one more gallon in it though.

What about gas quality? I just got a 2000 with 43000 miles and was wondering if I will hurt things by using 87 or if I'll get better MPG by using 92? At 20 cents per gallon X 26 gallons, it's like an extra $5.20 every time I hit the pump!
The manual says 87, think it'll be ok to stick with that?

The last time I filled up here in NorCal it was around $86-
So with these prices has anybody found out how many miles you get when the "low fuel" light comes on?
I have a '97 and dont have the milage center just the low fuel idiot light.

Cost me close to $60 here in Southern California. I offset the fill-ups by driving a sedan on a rotational basis.

My advice to potential Expy owners is to have an additional car. I am not complaining however as I still enjoy the behemoth the same way since day 1 (purchased new 6 yrs ago).
