Will check the pulses. I tried to do a compression check today and not sure what the problem was but I just couldn't get my tester threaded into the sparkplug hole. If I can confirm the pulses then I'll try again on the compression check.
Appreciate the feedback. I've taken it off and done the best I can to reset it and I feel confident it's making it's connection. Each time I took it out the spring was holding on to the plug and had to be pulled off.
Engine is running extremely rough. Definitely feel like it's down a cylinder. I've had problem with my #1 cylinder in the past but replacing the coil pack has always been the cure but not this time. When I get a code it's for cylinder 1 misfire.
What else can I check?
Turned out to be the metal heater hose that runs under the intake manifold. Didn't notice it until I had already replaced the intake manifold and fired it up. Oh well, I'm really good at taking the intake off now! Because of the known problem with the original cracking I decided to just keep...
I've heard that when vehicle manufacturers design a car/truck that there is a minimum amount of miles that all vehicles must be able to drive on a full tank of gas. This is a government set mandate. I recall this number being somewhere between 250-300 miles. Does anyone know the exact answer...
Few months back I was having an odd problem of losing coolant but not being able to find a leak. However the problem appeared to self resolve. Woohoo!
Until last week when I was driving down the road and all of a sudden my check engine light and oil temp light flicked on catching my attention...
I have a 2000 XLT 4x4 5.4
I would like to firm up the ride as the vehicle dips too much in turns. I peaked underneath the front of the truck and noticed that there is no coil spring or strut, just a shock absorber. Just a regular shock absorber at that, no air lift.
That seems fairly...
So I believe I installed the wrong rotors on my 2000 XLT 4x4. The wheels have been going clickity-clack ever since I replaced the rotors and pads at all 4 wheels. Sometimes its much more clack then click. I've taken the wheels off and sprayed material on the back of the pads. I've tightened...
So I've replaced the other 3 wheel's shocks with 'minimal' difficulty. However it appears that to remove the top bolt on the driver side rear shock that you need to also remove the bolt holding the gas tank strap so you can move the strap out of the way. Is this the case or am I missing...
