The low horizontal part line that goes from the side of the rear bumper cover to the moulding around the hitch I find houses a lot of dirt. I can never get dirt to stop falling out of the area.

I feel the same way with the license plate lights. Actually parked next to two other expeditions. We all had ours on remote start, and they commented how nice LED white license plate lights look on mine in comparison to the dull yellow.
Agreed - I love how Toyota / Honda still used old dash clock displays and shifters - the interior could be mistaken from 15 years ago.
You get the reliability at the cost of modernization. Always putting new design / tech in a car will lead to some reliability issues.
on parts.ford.com, they list the CCD front/rear shocks at $412.36, and standard at $125 front /$155 rear. If you just need to replace one, it won't be too much of a difference to get a replacement CCD shock then to replace the pair on the axle, which i expect at minimum you need to change out...
Not sure which audio system you have - I have been pretty happy shifting the sound of the BO system to the rear in the sound fader settings. The kids were watching a show on the IPAD and forgot their headphones.
Definitely resale and if you do decide to get a camper or a larger boat.
