If 5280 is correct RCI is the way to go. Their plates are far superior to factory and cheaper.
I had their transmission skid on my 2016 Expedition and it was great.
I bought a Tundra and their skids were one of the first things I ordered for it. Hopefully they’ll be here in the next few weeks...
The Expedition has been fun but now that we got my wife her Suburban I don’t need a 3 row SUV anymore and I wanted a truck.
I was tired of constantly jacking with the suspension to get it where I wanted (still had not made it there) and was going to have to custom build some sliders and modify...
TBs are like $120 and a few bolts for the factory part.
Fairly easy swap. One bolt is a pain to get to but a fairly simple job. Certainly worth doing yourself.
Aftermarkets are like $350
All RL does is add ground clearance. You arguably loose off-road performance somewhat. You aren’t gaining any articulation. You are likely inhibiting some upward movement since essentially your strut is preloaded.
A spacer also does not ride as well comfort wise.
Then RL is about $350 and since...
correct. I did not run the 1st setup at all.
The 2nd levels out a bit when weight is put on the suspension. I am about 3.5” of lift currently. Going to drop it to 2” and should be golden.
That is because the factory spring rates are different.
The shocks are identical.
But again he is planning on using F150 5100s to attain more height (I presume) as I see no other reason for using the F150 5100 since there is an Expedition model now.
I used F150 5100s because when I did mine...
Being the suspension setups are pretty much identical and the struts and UCAs are the exact same part from the 3rd to 4th gen just giving friendly advise to what issues to possibly be prepared for.
Not sure on Spring rate differences but he is very likely to run into the same issue as I did...
Nope on the 6112 for the rear.
When I put the F150 5100s on my 2016 the top ring was about 4” of lift which was too much. Dropped the the 2nd Ring and got about 2” of lift. Big bumps control arms made contact with the coil. I am not sure the same will correlate to the 4th Gen but would not be...
Smaller wheel and tire is much cheaper, multiple that by the millions of vehicles they sell across the world each year.
Ford sold 1.3 million vehicles worldwide in the 4th quarter of 2019 just for fun multiple that by 4 that makes 5.2 million vehicles for the year. Maybe they had a couple...
Looking forward to seeing if they fit.
I contacted AMI which is a division of ReadyLift and they did not know if theirs would fit but they are made in the USA.
If the RCs fit I’ll eventually order the AMIs. The front loop looks much cleaner on the AMI to RCs pretty crude welds.
Also I am...
