About a month ago I put new brake pads on 2000. Since I'm real close to the 200K mile club I thought it might be a good idea to flush and bleed the brake fluid. I bought a pressure bleeder and all seemed to go well. I sucked the old fluid out of the master cylinder and pushed a lot of fluid...
Problem solved. For the benefit of anybody else with this problem. The 12V lead to the 3 pin connector is supposed to be hot all of the time even with the key off. It turns out that the 20amp fuse in the under hood junction box had a flaky connection and the 12V supply was intermittent. I just...
So two weeks ago my battery light comes on and my add on digital volt meter reads 12.2V.
i was an hour away from home so I just turned every thing off and drove home. Double checked the voltage at the battery with a good meter and only read 12.1V so I assumed alternator and replaced it. Same...
I think I figured it out. There are two connectors to the alternator, one three pin and one single pin. I reseated the three pin connector and the problem appears to be solved.
Today the battery light came on in my 2000 Expedition. It showed low voltage at the battery when running so I assumed alternator and changed it. Still have the same problem. Starts and runs fine but only reads 12 volts at battery when running. Alternator field fuse is good and fusible link...
I just put a new Kenwood double DIN head unit and speakers in 2000 Expy. Had to modify the dash to fit it in.
Now I'm wondering about an Alarm system. Way to many options to sort out so I'm looking for recommendations. Easy installation would be a big plus. Motion detector would be cool also...
So thinking about repainting my 2000. My door side molding look bad. The fake plastic chrome inserts are shot. I'm wondering if anybody has removed the chrome and just painted them with the rest of the truck and if so how does it come out?
thanks
Gary
Just finished both front seats on my 2000 last week. They look great. I added about 3/4" of foam to build up the bottom of the driver seat. It was about $800.00 to do both front seats but I love the results.
Be sure to use flux. These flux pens work great.

Don't use plumbing flux.
Raining all day yesterday and today in Northern Ca. Spent some time in the garage. Fixed the over head display and my odometer on my 2000 Expy.
Thanks to all that posted pics and made the videos.
