I am pretty sure. The squeaking noise happens most easily when one pulls/pushes on the metal piece (I'm gonna give describing this a go) above the rubber/plastic shroud above the wheel well area but below the washer fluid. However, we cannot see what is causing the actual squeaking.
Hi everyone- Been a little bit of a rough two months on the Expy with a new alternator and battery. Anyway, a few days ago a squeaking noise (sounds like metal on metal) started. I can hear it inside the car while driving. It also makes the noise if I bounce the car up and down or really with...
Hi- Ive got a 97 black expedition, and Im trying to find a paint to spray on that will match the original paint. We had to sand down and cut out some rust and fill it in with a support and body filler, and so far I can only find touch up matching paint. Any advice?
Thanks
Hi everyone- So some background- My exhaust pipe kind of wiggles a bit and when I hit bigger bumps you can hear it clang against the body or something. Anyway, yesterday I noticed a noise that sounds either like the exhaust pipe vibrating against the body or, more closely, a fan blade spinning...
yea thats what I'm planning on for now, I'm just gonna get the parking brake shoe and brake pads replaced. The 4-Lo and 4-Hi will work without the abs sensor but the A4WD won't, is that correct?

I waited so long because I am in college and I am on a tight budget, anti lock brakes in the summer were not a priority for me. The parking brake issue began Saturday and today was the first day they were open since then. I can't do the work myself, I don't have jacks and such and also don't...
Hi all- I just brought my expedition into the shop to get an estimate on fixing the ABS system and a screeching noise from the rear. The mechanic says that the noise from the rear is from the parking brake clamp not releasing, and also says that I have essentially no life left on my rear brake...
Nope, no O'Reilly's near here, but I found a friend who has a scanner capable of reading the ABS codes! I'll let you know the codes once I get them tomorrow afternoon... thanks for your continued help! This forum is really great.
Well Autozone and Advanced Auto Parts told me they can only read check engine lights not ABS codes... where do I go from here? I would rather not purchase a new obd reader for the ABS system.
1997 expedition 4x4 with the 4.6. I have a code reader myself which I will try when I get out later today, but I'm assuming it won't be effective for the abs system codes. Would Nappa read the codes?
Hi all- I was driving yesterday and my ABS light came on when I parked. It now stays on and turns on immediately without the car moving. Is there any chance this is the the sensor, or is it the abs system itself since it doesn't have to roll before the light comes on?
Thanks
Hoping it's the sensor
