    I had my 2001 5.4 done and I think it was 14 quarts, that's just the fluild to replace, more if you are going to use some to flush.

    Quick update turn out the gem is going out

    Excellent. I am getting the GEM replaced by a dealer next week. Putting in a used one. Amazing that I found a dealer in our area who will do the used part thing. 20 miles away but well worth it. I am hoping the replacement brings relief from the auto starting that it is doing.

    Has anyone replaced the GEM in their Expy? I am told by the dealer that it needs to be replaced and i am wondering if a used one will work, even though the dealer is the only one to be able to re-program it?
