The maintenance cost difference is minor on the 3.0 vs gasser, not like the bigger diesels. Again the actual cost of the engine varies on trim so hard to give a good answer there, but it’s nothing like $12k cost in the heavy duty pickups. Averaging 4-6mpg better so far than the Expedition. So in...
Yeah GMs packages are strange, for instance on the AT4 ticking the Duramax box automatically adds option packages that it doesn’t do on other trims which makes it a lot more expensive option. On a High Country it’s a $600 premium over the 6.2 but on a Premier it’s $5k cheaper than the 6.2. GM...
Yep I get that and it doesn’t fit everyone’s use case, we have a different use case that involves putting a bunch of miles on every year. We live 20 miles from the nearest Walmart and 60 from the nearest Taco Bell if that puts things in perspective.
No it’s not. The only full-size GM SUV you can’t get the LZ0 in is the Escalade. It’s actually more available than it was before starting in 2025 as you can get it in Z71 and AT4 trims.
Fair enough, but the fuel economy of the 3.0 Duramax is hard to beat. Definitely the best engine GM currently offers in the full size SUVs. Again, hope Ford gets their crap together because the Expedition could be really competitive if they put the effort in.
Wow glad we went with a Yukon XL AT4 w the 3.0 Duramax. The ride and fit and finish is night and day better than our 23 Limited Max. Only way I would buy an expedition is with CCD and now they’ve made it hard to get. Also hell no on the 24” wheels, the ride is already awful on 22s.
We unfortunately left the Expedition family just recently due to quality issues on our 23 Limited Max. Tons of interior squeaks and rattles some due to improper installation or lack of grease on latches. Also a front end vibration that tires and a full rebuild of the differential did not...
We have a Limited 502a so interior is nearly identical to a platinum, except for the the seats which I have no complaints about. The plastic components used on the cupholder assembly and center console are awful and a number of people have issues with noise. Headliner rattles and grab handle...
The Expeditions have vibration and ride issues, there’s quite a few complaints about it and tires don’t solve the issue. They’ve got something else going on and it seems to be much worse on 22-24 models. How an F-150 with similar payload and an old school leaf spring rear suspension can have a...
Anywhere from 6k -8k for us. Lots of highway miles (easy miles). Over 60k on a 2023 Limited Max already. These newer oils are much better than the old stuff. But it depends on your usage. If you tow and are in the boost a lot I would say 5k tops since since the 3.5s start to get fuel dilution...
Ours is doing it too. The center console is made out of disappointingly cheap materials. A high touch area like that should have higher quality materials.
The GVWR is your legal weight rating along with the GAWR. The yellow payload sticker is more informational than a legally binding number. If you are within the GVWR and GAWR you are legal, regardless of the number on the yellow payload sticker.
Ford decided by putting the lowest available...
I think that is true that it is felt throughout... but if there is a front differential problem like we encountered that vibration will travel through the drivetrain since everything is spinning even in 2wd on the 22+. Again, just a theory from my experience on our 23.
Also, I feel like there...
We had a vibration problem in our 23 Max Limited. Started to notice it around 25k miles and thought it was a tire balance issue. Had the stock 22s rebalanced and did not help anything. At around 30k we put on 20” wheels with 285/55 R20 Michelin Defenders and had a hell of a time with balancing...
This matches the OPs payload sticker for the Active he ordered. So this confirms what they started doing in ‘24 with the one size fits all payload stickers. This number is probably much closer to reality on a Platinum SPP than a lightly optioned Active.
