Tires- A/T
The BFGs have a good rating. I'm leaning toward the Pirelli Scorpion ATRs because I need a decent highway tire that will perform well in rain & snow.
I understand they may develope a 'flat spot' in colder temps. but I'll take the chance & give them a try before winter. I discovered...
Cold CCA Amps
Yes. I was thinking of installing a Interstate w/ at least 850. I wasn't sure if was necessary because my Auto-Silver is just over a year old. But, I believe its better to be safe than sorry w/ temps in the low teens to 0 in Dec.
I understand Wal-Mart has a line of Batterys...
'06 or 07' Exp LTD
Yes.. I agree w/ SIlver & Balck 07. I purchased a '06 LTD Exp (4WD) and find it to be a quality piece of machinary.
I haven't used the 4WD as of yet but plan on this winter in Mich.
Good Luck!
I'm back with a 4x4 '06 Exp LTD. I sold my '76 F-100 4x4. The EXP is a great family hauler. I'm looking forward to driving it this winter in Mich.
Nice meeting you all. No more locking-in front hubs.
5.4L Standard
To my understanding the 5.4L is standard for the new EXPs. I believe Ford offered a 4.6L years ago. I have the 5.4L in my 4x4 and must say it's a 'Beast'. There's more than enough power (torque) to move the vehicle and to pull up to 9000 lbs.
