Went back out this morning and one of the harnesses had dropped behind opening so I'd forgotten to plug it in. Plugged it right up and everything is working. Thanks for your help.
Thanks, I'll check in the daylight to make sure no pins are bent. There was 1 thicker orange cable which went from the wiring harness I needed to move to get to the actuator which split off and routed across the actuator. Not sure what the one was for, but it definitely was jostled.
2005 Expedition XLT, manual HVAC with rear AC
Just finished replacing the front blend door actuator. [Was a royal pain despite finding some good videos. Ended up having to trim the part that fits in the blend door in order to seat it. Took the original apart and saw the broken gears.]...
You should have plugs replaced and probably coils too. Replaced mine with SP507s in 2010 when vehicle had 95k. 3 broke during extraction, so definitely got use of Lisle tool. Just replaced them again last year at 190k (with SP546s), only 1 broke this time (it was in the easiest location to...
Ok, just went to replace tensioner and the replacement part (and all the other ones for a 2005, including motorcraft) come with a smooth pulley. The one installed on my 2005 has a grooved pulley. I could swap pulleys, but I would think the replacement part would come with the same type of...
Took the stethoscope to the pulleys today and it appears the tensioner one has bad bearings (much deeper and louder than the other ones I could get to). Thanks for all your help.
Thanks for this video, very helpful. Have not had any work done inside the engine (other than 2 rounds of spark plug changes - but I dont really count that as inside engine).
Thanks for the feedback. I didnt think the 2005 had a cabin air filter. I replaced the serpentine belt tensioner a few years ago, maybe the advance auto product is failing again.
2005 Expedition XLT - 197K Miles
Was my daily driver, son has been driving for last 6 months.
First is coming from engine bay whether AC is running or not.
Second is coming from cabin, if blower is on 2, no noise. If blower changed to 3, a loud noise starts, if blower is changed to 4, noise...
Did that quote include handling any plugs which seized in the engine - or would they charge you extra labor for those?
I just finished changing plugs in my 2005. Had to spread it over 2 days because I ran out of time the first day. Plugs in cylinders 1, 2 and 4 seized - so I had to use the...
