Well it had a bad o2 sensor and I had all 4 of them replaced and it is running great. Replaced the ABS module with NOS part and the light show is gone. This 2013 has only a few issues to fix, the radio display (solder) and some blend door actuators acting up.
My next plan after replacing the brake booster vacuum line is to remove and inspect the plenum duct for cracks in the corrugation. I have had that problem in a Ford Probe. Engine died when reversing or going over a speed bump. The hose would flex and the engine would lean out. Duct tape was the...
I have a 2001 Expedition 4.6L 2V N/A. I have been dealing with driveability problems (see my other posts) that are from a lean condition. I am just getting back to work on this problem and have been shooting the parts cannon on hoses on the manifold vacuum due to age. I just replaced the PCV...
All those linkages wear out and are easy to repair.
I found on my 01, that the 1/4 inch rivets on the rear doors wear out and the heads pop off. In my case a strange black button (anodized) found on the rear carpet. The rivets hold the actuator motor which is quite powerful and rattles the...
Probably not, the float gives you a low washer fluid level warning and if it comes on there should still be some reserve. Maybe your pump is failing. In my 2013 the tank and pump are buried under the battery. I think access can be had by removing passenger side headlight assembly.
I will check out ALLDATA to see if it is more informative. The 400 plus pages of the FORD electrical manual are not very helpful as it is less a schematic (than the old Haynes wiring diagrams) and more a block diagram of interconnects, lacking any continuity details. As I mentioned the Sun...
I would double check those wheel sensors. I have heard, but not verified, that the ABS ECU needs to self test on one of the wheel sensors (Passenger front?) and if it does not see it, it will not boot up. If you are getting just the B1342 it may be a bad ABS module.I had the B1342 and went out...
You might want to get it up on a lift and make sure none of the calipers are sticking. Those rubber hoses, all of them, are subject to breaking down and becoming a one way valve allowing fluid under pressure to compress the calipers and then failing to release them. I had that fail on my 2001...
On my 2001 I removed the cowling prepped it and painted it black (matte finish). My 2013 was treated with some detailing by the dealer that has faded in 2 years, so I will do the same paint. Unless it is cracked you can paint it. I did find that painting a huge black plastic piece in sunlight is...
