Well it had a bad o2 sensor and I had all 4 of them replaced and it is running great. Replaced the ABS module with NOS part and the light show is gone. This 2013 has only a few issues to fix, the radio display (solder) and some blend door actuators acting up.
My next plan after replacing the brake booster vacuum line is to remove and inspect the plenum duct for cracks in the corrugation. I have had that problem in a Ford Probe. Engine died when reversing or going over a speed bump. The hose would flex and the engine would lean out. Duct tape was the...
I have a 2001 Expedition 4.6L 2V N/A. I have been dealing with driveability problems (see my other posts) that are from a lean condition. I am just getting back to work on this problem and have been shooting the parts cannon on hoses on the manifold vacuum due to age. I just replaced the PCV...
All those linkages wear out and are easy to repair.
I found on my 01, that the 1/4 inch rivets on the rear doors wear out and the heads pop off. In my case a strange black button (anodized) found on the rear carpet. The rivets hold the actuator motor which is quite powerful and rattles the...
Probably not, the float gives you a low washer fluid level warning and if it comes on there should still be some reserve. Maybe your pump is failing. In my 2013 the tank and pump are buried under the battery. I think access can be had by removing passenger side headlight assembly.
I will check out ALLDATA to see if it is more informative. The 400 plus pages of the FORD electrical manual are not very helpful as it is less a schematic (than the old Haynes wiring diagrams) and more a block diagram of interconnects, lacking any continuity details. As I mentioned the Sun...
I would double check those wheel sensors. I have heard, but not verified, that the ABS ECU needs to self test on one of the wheel sensors (Passenger front?) and if it does not see it, it will not boot up. If you are getting just the B1342 it may be a bad ABS module.I had the B1342 and went out...
You might want to get it up on a lift and make sure none of the calipers are sticking. Those rubber hoses, all of them, are subject to breaking down and becoming a one way valve allowing fluid under pressure to compress the calipers and then failing to release them. I had that fail on my 2001...
On my 2001 I removed the cowling prepped it and painted it black (matte finish). My 2013 was treated with some detailing by the dealer that has faded in 2 years, so I will do the same paint. Unless it is cracked you can paint it. I did find that painting a huge black plastic piece in sunlight is...
Do any of these companies make covers for the second row seats? I have a 2013 and would like to do an upgrade but none of the companies I checked on line did second row. I would prefer an OEM like replacement.
There is OEM sub space in the area over the rear drivers side wheel well. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-JBdMnI6mcv6/learn/2007-2017-ford-expedition.html
$7K at a dealership? Metal in the fluid? Chunks or shavings? There is a magnet in the pan to collect shavings that normally occur from gear wear. I would flat bed it to a reputable local transmission shop. Don't share the $7K stealership quote with them.
Not good to ignore transmission symptoms. I also recall a 10 year 150K mile warranty. I would have it flat bed towed to a shop that can scan it. There is no dipstick. Ford says "lifetime" fluid, but that is BS because the designer ZF has a service interval. I am planning on getting a filter...
There was a TSB for the lead frame assembly which has all the valves and solenoids. Might be covered in a recall. Is any fluid leaking? The fittings near the oil cooler rust and fail. Yes get it scanned.
The torque converter is an interesting thought. If the vehicle were struck in the rear while running at significant RPM, the torque convertor, spinning like a gyroscope, may have suddenly been distorted by twisting on its axis. This is all simply theory on my part and does not explain it...
UPDATE: Unfortunately, I may have a change of plans. The available net space under the middle panel looks to be a lot less than the 12 to 13 inches that I need for the width of a rather large mobile radio I have planned to use that hidden space. The cargo box aft wall screws down just about 9...
