Help removing front hub assembly (1999 4WD)

The stub axle doesn't push in, it seems to be "frozen" to the hub. I removed the three bolts and the hub assembly does wiggle around, but it's firmly attached to the stub axle, even after trying to use the puller to push the axle in / pull the hub out.

Help removing front hub assembly (1999 4WD)

I recently bought a used 1999 Expedition 4WD with 150,000 miles. The pads were shot, rotor was beyond shot, and the front hub bearings are shot. I had no problem removing the caliper assembly but the rotor was rusted on to the hub. I found the nut/bolt trick on YouTube and used that to free the...

    Ticking/knocking sound on '99 5.4L

The sound is consistent with RPM, though it can't really be heard above the engine noise above 1400 rpm or so. The sound does become more faint as the engine warms up on warmer days. Though in today's 40 degrees it still made the ticking noise after 30 minutes of city driving.

    Just bought a 99 - Noise in 4WD, Help!

Thank you for explaining how 4WD truly works! I was not aware of this and had heard from my misinformed buddies that it's ok to use 4WD on dry pavement! These explanations make total sense. Thank you for setting me straight!

    Just bought a 99 - Noise in 4WD, Help!

I recently bought a 1999 Expedition XLT from its original owner. 150,000 miles in very nice cosmetic condition. Spark plugs were recently changed but everything else is original, including shocks and wheel bearings. When I did my test drive, 4H and 4L (it has the A4WD feature) seemed to work...
