I know what you mean! It really wasn't that bad but I'm a shade tree mechanic and been fixing it for years, well since it was like 5 years old... Can you say rust? LOL I think I got it done for like 300.00.
Have fun in Fl and try not to cook in the truck!
Mine ended up being nothing malfunctioning, just a clogged port in the throttle body. Yes I replaced a bunch of stuff first! Then I talked to a ford mechanic.....Youtube it. They clog with carbon. Mine was so bad I couldn't find it until I scrubbed the body and found a black spot about the size...
My 97 comp clutch rusted out, like everything else. Comp was a PITA to get to, but doable. Replaced the rear AC valve (If you have rear A/C, the inline filters, and O rings. They all came with the kit. My buddy is a mechanic for fleet vehicles for the government. All they do is flush out all the...
I know this is old, but what I just found out might help someone with an ABS light. My son was pulling a trailer with the 97 4X4 Expedition rust bucket and had to stop quickly a few times. The front brakes started smoking and shortly after, the ABS light came on and the brake peddle would...
Anti-seize for new brake rotors

Clogged Throttle Body
It’s a common problem. My 97 Expedition with about 115K at the time was popping off codes and I got all the info to replace everything. I read about the Throttle body passages being clogged so I removed it and sure enough after I cleaned it, I saw where passages were...
PCV Hose
I had the same problem. Ford didn't have the 40.00 part so I removed the part and most of it is hard plastic pipe that looked brand new with insulation around it, so I just replaced the rubber ends that were dry rotted and leaking with fuel line hose for about 3 bucks from the auto store!
R&R the right Exhaust Manifold
My legal disclaimer: I don’t not recommend anyone doing this, this is just what I did….;-)
A nut splitter won't work, you cant get it in the tight space.
OK, this job is a ***** on an older vehicle; I just did it to the passenger side (97 Expedition 120K)...
