so after picking up a 22 Timberline for my Wife i got to say we love it! especially after the lift, wheels and tires. her previous car was a Mazda CX-90, it was a PHEV got like 50MPG but just didnt have the kinda space we really wanted. one feature i loved though was the digital rearview mirror and was kind of disappointed there wasnt one on the Expy. I always install dash cams on all our cars now front and rear. so i have seen these Wolfbox mirror/cam combos and figured i would give one a try. they sell a factory style mount thats the same as Fords so it attached directly to the windshield so you dont have to strap it to your existing mirror so it almost looks factory. The big issue has to do with looking out the back window, you get glare and well i have limo tint back there so it dark (you can see i tried to cut a little hole in the tint and of course much clearer, its ulgy, im gonna fix it dont worry). I didn't want to exterior mount this thing which is an option but not really for me.
anyway how it was mounted on the Mazda was a camera housing was sticky taped to the rear window, and with that no glare issues and you just tint around it. really solves all the issues. but as far as i can tell, not a problem, ill design one! I'm in the final prototype stages now. it will attach to the rear window using double sided sticky tape and the rear cap will allow the cam to be removed or replace if it ever breaks. going to get this design printed in Carbon Pet-G, its strong and holds up to the heat well. ill post some more pictures once its printed and i test out the fit and view
oh also there's a little cover for the plugs and wires on top of the mirror ill post pic of that too
