    Disable automatic lock

I sure didn't. I assumed that it was just like my VW, a feature that could not be disabled through a simple manual lookup! I just looked in the manual and saw that you can indeed disable it! I'll post how to do it here, in case others wonder the same. Information Display Controls (Type 1 and...

    Disable automatic lock

When I want to get into the car, I usually unlock the car when I am leaving my house. By the time I have carried kids, stuff and things to the car, it will have locked itself automatically again. It's not a big deal, but my gosh it is frustrating! My old VW Passat used to do this too and it is a...

Second row center seat top tether -> does not fit?

Then I will try again tomorrow when my husband is home and I've got the car. I was a bit hesitant to maneuver it too much, but I suppose that if the tether can withstand an accident, my attempts at latching it shouldn't affect it greatly.

Second row center seat top tether -> does not fit?

I have a question, and I sure hope it's me and not the tether. We're installing 3 car seats in the 2nd row (in February we'll move the older two kids to the 3rd row as our 4th is born), and our 3 year old is in a Diono Radian car seat, forward facing. The seat installs securely, but the tether...

    Cell Phone Holder

My idea would be to put it on top of the dashboard. I'll post some pictures once it is up.

    Cell Phone Holder

We just bought our 2017 expedition, and are pinning our hopes on this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GCI7BCI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I'll let you know how it works by Saturday, if you'd like.

    2017 Expedition EL-Child seats / Top Tethers

I am rather tech-savy. Thank you. ;) At one point, we managed to fit four kids PLUS a double stroller in a ford explorer. That was nothing short of impressive, and a huge pain in the rump. I highly doubt we will be repeating such brave antics. It's an EL or bust.

    2017 Expedition EL-Child seats / Top Tethers

Update: due to a lack of willing grandparents combined with my unwillingness to look at cars with 3 kids in tow, we had to postpone our car search to either this Wednesday or Friday. I am excited. Will definitely look at all of your suggestions: taking out the middle seat in the 2nd row (I found...

    2017 Expedition EL-Child seats / Top Tethers

Unfortunately, MOST EL's are way out of our range. And then the 2018s have that super awesome 2nd row tilting feature that would make our lives SO MUCH easier, but they are also about $20,000 our of our price range. The only EL that we found that is in our price and driving range has the second...

    2017 Expedition EL-Child seats / Top Tethers

So, thank you for these pictures. Thank you very, very much. I am going to take these to our car mechanic, if we buy the EL. He has little kids too, and understood what I meant by "top tether" and said he was willing to look at the car and what I needed. This was much better than the reply I got...

    2017 Expedition EL-Child seats / Top Tethers

First of all, let me say THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE. I appreciate your responses, and I appreciate the lack of "you're turning your kids into millennial weaklings by not letting them bounce through the car". Thank you. With regards to buying a van; yes. I am absolutely IN LOVE with the...

    2017 Expedition EL-Child seats / Top Tethers

Hi! My husband and I are probably going to purchase a 2017 Ford Expedition EL XLT on Saturday. We've got an option of buying one with about 70,000 miles on it for $23,000, so that sounds like a good deal (right?). We have 3 children, with our fourth on the way in February. This Expedition...
