I've read that about Ford bj's failing as early as 50,000 miles. Since I am gonna bust my knuckles and stain the driveway with blood and beer and I only want to do this once! I love this Navigator dearly but it looks like 100k is like an alarm for some stuf to give up the ghost. I did the rear...
Hey team, looking for some input on parts quality for upper and lower balljoints on my 2010 Lincoln Navigator L. Its got 103k on the clock and the alignment shop wont touch it because of a 1/4" of up and down play in the lower balljoints.
MOOG has always had a good reputation but I hear their...
Interesting, transmissions run their fluid through the cooler at a higher pressure than the coolant system so when the interface between the two fails it usually forces out the coolant and not vice versa. Thanks for letting me know that this can happen in an unusual way.

Thanks for the thread! I just picked up a project 97 Expy and though I don't have similar issues I am going to double ck engine, body, chassis grounds tomorrow.
Not sure if you're still huntin your ac leak Tambrin. Here's a few thoughts on how to locate it:
1) You mentioned that you used a UV light, did you put dye in the system?
2) You're lucky you can hear the hissing, most ac leaks are slow with no sound and harder to find usually requiring a freon...
Wow just got threw reading this build thread from beginning to end and its better than a book! Thanks for all the awesome pics and descriptions guys. I just bought my 97 rust free Expy here in Aridzona for $400. It was a non runner at an auction and the locksmith came the next day, cut and...
