Okay , I'm pretty sure you've already figured it out , but I think the stall/jerk issue you were noticing was the overdrive kicking in it's perfectly normal .
I am having the same problem and now I suspect it IS a bad battery because I notice the lights fade as the engine stalls . I don't think its a fuel problem because it idles just fine in neutral or park and accelerates just fine . I'm going to have my battery checked .
It is very frustrating because if there is any air at all in the cooling system it is going to end up in the heater core . Short of using a vacuum system costing $200.00 you can park on a steep hill or put the front end up on ramps and with the engine warmed up run the engine at about 3500 RPM...
Vertical crack running down right side of radiator . This can cause overheating leading to head gasket leak and eventually melted catalytic convetrers .
