VCT Solenoid replacement same on 2017 and 2018??

@JasonH May I ask why you did this? Were your codes similar to mine? Mine is running rough at startup but then runs much better once warmed up. And did it solve your issue? I'm at 227K miles, so the other option I suppose is to just jump all the way in and do the entire timing chain.

VCT Solenoid replacement same on 2017 and 2018??

2017 Expedition EL Limited 227K miles Is the VCT Solenoid replacement process the same on a 2017 3.5L and a 2018 3.5L? I'm getting a slew of codes and I found this wonderful write up by @TLCMccrosky on removing at least one side. I'm going to likely clean/inpect the VCT solenoids as I hear...

Safety Recall 25S37 for brakes - it's been a fight! How are you getting repairs done?

Update #245 (not trying to be overwhelming here, but I want this to be helpful for future searches on this). I contacted the dealer to inform them there is now an official remedy. They replied later stating that the parts they put in (the service we had to pay for a few weeks ago) turned out...

    Possible Transmission Noise?

We had the transmission shudder on ours as well. Did a fluid change (first one ever and we're at 225K miles!!!) and added the LubeGuard. So far, so good!

Safety Recall 25S37 for brakes - it's been a fight! How are you getting repairs done?

Yet another update: Manufacturer Recall Number25S37 now has a remedy. Not sure what the remedy is, but it's apparently available. So that's good I suppose... Hopefully anyone who searches for this recall gets the help they need.

    Another Recall For 2015 - 2017

It's about time! Our camera has been doing this for years! @WGrish I can't answer for you exactly, as each dealer is different, but with the brake recall, Ford said if we do it ourselves, we would not get our money refunded once the remedy is out. Seems to be different for every dealer...

Safety Recall 25S37 for brakes - it's been a fight! How are you getting repairs done?

Hey all To those with worthwhile replies, thank you. Update as of now: Our Ford dealer has replaced the master cylinder and the brake booster. They were replaced of course with parts that can fail again as they are under the same recall. (Some logic, huh?) We had to pay for the repair...

Safety Recall 25S37 for brakes - it's been a fight! How are you getting repairs done?

That could be. It was a prior rental we purchased from Carvana.

Safety Recall 25S37 for brakes - it's been a fight! How are you getting repairs done?

When I enter my vin, only two recalls come up. One for the blower and one for the master cylinder (the recent one).

Safety Recall 25S37 for brakes - it's been a fight! How are you getting repairs done?

Oh geez. I did forget that information. It's a 2017 with 227K miles on it. We've owned it since it had 68K miles on it. We were never part of the original recall. We're part of the second though. Neither Ford dealer nor FoMoCo make any issue with the year or mileage. Their defense is...

Safety Recall 25S37 for brakes - it's been a fight! How are you getting repairs done?

@99WhiteC5Coupe, it's too late. The truck was towed to the dealer! I think we're looking into a lawyer cause we don't know what else to do. They offered again to replace the booster and manifold. With parts in the stock system... That are under the same recall... This whole thing makes no...

Safety Recall 25S37 for brakes - it's been a fight! How are you getting repairs done?

That's why I'm confused with some of the posts here. It appears people have had it completed? But how? FoMoCo recommended the dealer it's at and this dealer will NOT do the repair under recall. They are sticking to their guns on this. @GlennSullivan , I'm with you: If either I pay for the...

Safety Recall 25S37 for brakes - it's been a fight! How are you getting repairs done?

Good afternoon, We're in a fight with Ford right now. Our brakes actually failed, exactly as the brake recall stated. It's been diagnosed by a local Ford dealer that yes, the "master cylinder allows brake fluid to leak into the brake booster". Our dealer will NOT perform this repair under...
