FWIW, I've been using these for 4 years, got them on sale at walmart for $90 each. Good in snow, have been good in rain, and not wearing much, but then I do mostly highway. I have 30k miles on them and have almost unmeasurable treadwear so far; MAYBE 1/16"...- nightfly

Warranty is at a shop in Pennsylvania. I'm now in Arizona. I'll keep an eye on the fluids and check the temps.- nightfly

Spotted the maps upgrade for about $13 on fleabay here though it doesn't say it's for the later devices; the ads mention things like A6, A8, A9 are those the specific head units for the GPS? ...- nightfly

Anyone using 80/100 halogen headlight bulbs? I have a 2008 Expy
Led patterns that I've seen on other threads, well, they generally suck; the light housings aren't made for them. I'm fine with the current light pattern, just need more oomph in the brightness dept. I'm now on my fourth hour of researching this. I found Summit racing's site and they list an 80/100 bulb as an application for my vehicle. I'm going to go ahead and try these Hella's first. These are what they have in 80/100...- nightfly

2011 map update worth it?
Get a new one with voice command if you don't have one. Never wanted to pay extra, but just the ability to shout at the thing, 'VOICE COMMAND', then, 'DETOUR' without pushing any buttons and have it get it done quick when I have to pass a clogged up off ramp is priceless. What locations can I mount a light bar???
Looks like it fits perfectly. What kind of light bar is it? Driving lights, flashing red/blue, yellow? If driving lights, how much further does it shine than the high beams?- nightfly

You only have ONE key? I can't imagine doing that. FWIW, Anyway, my 2008 had ONE key, and when I went to the locksmith they told me they could duplicate the code in it, but not the other original key's code. Apparently the original keys each one has a different code in it for some reason, and...- nightfly

I ran the 80/100 H4 bulbs for a lot of years. The european 928's used a 8" diameter reflector instead of the American 7", but they were god expensive ($500), so the brainiacs on Rennlist just started using the 80/100 bulbs instead or paying Porsche for the bigger dishes (which supposedly had 30%...- nightfly

Little mirror in upper console
That would be handy, as I only use Rx glasses for driving. Anyone know if they fit? I have a 2008, and would love to have a place to put 2 pairs of glasses. Right now I've got those clip on things on my sun visors that fall off when you pull the visor down. Wimin drivers. Just try STOPPING them...- nightfly

Search doesn't show anything about this. As I had great results with this simple upgrade in my 928, I wonder if anyone has tried this? I know the housings on these Fords are plastic and not glass, so I'm wondering if anyone has melted down their housings by using these. Seems like it would make...- nightfly

It was done at Anderson Ford in Kingman, AZ. So I just assumed they used Motorcraft trans fluid. Wasn't dark brown. Was a darker shade of red than new, but then it had about 15K miles on it. They saved some of the supposedly drained fluid to show me how dark it was; I didn't ask whether it came...- nightfly

I've had them service the truck before, without any oddball repairs being required. I just hate paying for stuff that I could have done myself, if I was at home with my own equipment (I'm on christmas vacation, 2500 miles away from home. Battery replaced as preventitive maintenance. Purchased this truck in February 2017, battery of unknown age. I drive from NJ to AZ several times a year, and don't want any surprises 100 miles from any service/parts place. So battery was at least 2 years old. Replaced with a new one from walmart...- nightfly
