engine block heater
I ended up putting a freeze plug in the hole. I put a halogen lamp underneath to help cure the rtv silicone I smeared around the plug to ensure a seal. I have never had a problem starting the expedition in cold weather. I have owned it since 1999. It is parked in the garage. My F350 7.3...- panhead george

engine block heater
Today my wife was stuck in the snow in Chicago. The antifreeze dumped. After getting the 97 exped with 4.6 home, I saw the engine block heater was ripped out of its hole. Does anyone know if a plug is available to fill the hole and remove the block heater? I have never used it.- panhead george

loss of power
engine light on...changed gas cap and it went away. I changed the fuel filter before a long trip...no difference. I have given it premium and even octane boost...no difference Carbon buildup...Don't think so. I could be wrong. I have used seafoam etc....... How would I adjust the...- panhead george

loss of power
97 exped xlt 4wd about 180,000 My wife's expedition has a noticeable problem during acceleration on the highway and under a load. In cruise control, with several people and going up a slight incline, it loses power. The engine was rattling, trying to get up the hill. The exped slowed down...- panhead george

1997 exped with 4.6L 178,000 miles I am from Chicago area Wife went through stop sign and was hit on passenger fender. Broke glass passenger door, popped tire, core support , radiator , grille, bumper etc all have to be replaced. Still runs and moves. Motor has problem with acceleration...- panhead george
