No IWE on 21 max limited?

From the looks of the bolts, someone has been in there before, though that may be totally unrelated. F150’s went to Electric IWE’s in 2021 and some trims in 2022+ there are NO IWE’s on Auto 4WD models (Lariat, KR, Platinum, Limited). All this is to say that Expeditions are usually a year or two...

Preparing for doing first oil change myself

It’s a super easy oil change. The felt belly pan comes off with 4 8mm bolts to access the drain plug. There’s nothing to take off to access the oil filter. My advice is to get the engine warm, but not hot. As other have said, spin the filter off slowly and it will all drain out the back of the...

    Spark plug insert

I know this old and likely repaired by now, but this is the tool I've used and have not had a comeback, nor have I had any issues on my dad's truck which now at almost 400k miles. Aside from using loctite to keep the insert in place, this kit uses a swedge that bites the top of the insert into...

    Spark plug Helicoil?

I've replaced a decent amount of plugs that shot out. There may be some validity to them blowing out after plug replacement due improper torque, but that's not the whole story. A lot of them were blowing out prior to any plug replacement. It was a defect in both cylinder head and spark plug...

Trailer Hitch Cover Removal - What's the secret?

I have to use a 4” drop ball mount for our 20 Expedition to tow our pop up camper. My 22 F150 uses a 2” drop to tow the same camper. Hitch is definitely high on these. Keep in mind the suspension is softer on these than a truck, so expect the hitch to be a little lower with the Expy loaded up...

Required to leave vehicle at dealer to hold spot in line for service?

I think it really depends on where you are. I'm in Nashville and have used three different Ford dealerships. They all operate the way that you describe (That you need to leave the vehicle there and they place it in line, often times for a week. You also need to schedule one to two weeks out just...

2022 Owners Manual says use 87 Octane!

Don’t let premium fuel be the deciding factor in getting an 18+ Expedition. We bought a 2020 new and it’s never seen anything but regular fuel and has never had an issue. I know when I lived in California, mid-grade was 10 cents more than regular, and premium was 20 cents more than regular. I...

Total Meltdown - Help! - 2022 Expedition Max Limited

When I used to work on Lexus vehicles at the dealership, we would occasionally get issues almost exactly like this. It was just about always the Amplifier for the sound system. We would replace them and it would be all good. Good luck.

    Oil Leak…

I had a '17 F150 with the plastic pan. 1st year for the 2nd gen 3.5Eco. The oil pans are known to warp and seep oil. Mine did. The solution is to replace the pan. If yours is only the plug, that would be great, but I would be surprised when all is said and done. Its a bad design that was...

    Rivets in roof

Our 2020 XLT has the same visible spot welds. Doesn't seem to be a problem and I would never had noticed had I not hand-washed the Expedition. I agree that its shoddy not to cover it though.

    Folding Cargo Liners

We just got the Ford all-weather mat for our 2020 Expedition XLT (not MAX). It folds just like the picture in the previous post with the MAX. Trust me, its exactly what you want.
