    I replaced 3 on my '06, one at a time, with motorcraft. After the third, I replaced all of them with the a package of 8 Accel packs. All 8 were cheaper than 2 of the motorcraft. Never had another issue. Later 5.4s apparently had the same issue.

    From your pic it definitely needs the intercooler/radiator/oil cooler/AC Condenser. Best way is to appeal to the ins co with detailed pics of under-the-hood damage. Those aluminum coolers don't bend fer crap.

    Did you pull and check the plug? Look for tracking on the plug porcelain? Check the coil boot carefully? All of the above should be done before throwing parts at it.

    @losttime1, might be dependent on roads, terrain, traffic you drive in, etc. I get 17-18 while pulling an open car trailer with a car on it. Terrain around here couldn't get much flatter. Son has borrowed a couple of times for 100+ mile round trips, mostly freeway. He only gets around 18.

    GM: Also persistent A/C problems, most models. Faulty evaporators and condensers, faulty routing of lines, etc. I hope they've gotten better. Also dealer service that I have dealt with is terrible for anything more complicated than an oil change. Your experience may vary.
