Check if display has an engine hour readout in addition to mileage, etc. Also rear doors may have a hidden slider button, which if engaged prevents rear doors from being opened from inside. They must be unlocked from drivers armrest if engaged. If not engaged, work normally. Also have a...
Something no one thinks of, but bit me once - check to make sure the lights on the sun visor mirror turn off when the visors are in the stowed position
I replaced 3 on my '06, one at a time, with motorcraft. After the third, I replaced all of them with the a package of 8 Accel packs. All 8 were cheaper than 2 of the motorcraft. Never had another issue. Later 5.4s apparently had the same issue.
Mine is a 2017 plain-jane expy which came without the tow package. It has a class 3 receiver and came with the standard 4-wire connector. I have upgraded to a 7-pin and controller thanks to forscan and Tasca ford (and advice from this site).
My question? I got behind what I think is a 2019...
2017 with auxiliary rear heat, not with auto temp control. Not getting hot coolant to either front or rear. If I make a sharp right turn, coolant gets to the two heater cores momentarily then stops. Also functional for a short time on startup, but only sometimes.
This thing has an "Auxiliary...
With coil spring rear suspension, the total front wheel toe is +0.14 degrees, plus or minus 0.20 degrees. In other words, almost no toe. From the factory repair manual.
PS: If you fool around with the caster / camber, be aware the adjusting bolts are to be tightened to an eye-watering 258 ft...
Suggest it might be the lower control arm anchoring bolts used for alignment. They are to be torqued to an eye-watering 258 lb/ft after alignment. next-to-last time I had alignment done they put maybe 100lb/ft on them and slow sharp turns produced those symptoms. Got realigned at a better...
Check for dragging brake, or possibly front wheels not disengaging from axles while in 2wd. If you have a heat sensor, check rotor temp on all 4 wheels after a short drive. They will all be warm, should not be hot. You could use your finger, but wet it first as a dragging brake can be very...
From your pic it definitely needs the intercooler/radiator/oil cooler/AC Condenser. Best way is to appeal to the ins co with detailed pics of under-the-hood damage.
Those aluminum coolers don't bend fer crap.
Did you pull and check the plug? Look for tracking on the plug porcelain? Check the coil boot carefully? All of the above should be done before throwing parts at it.
@losttime1, might be dependent on roads, terrain, traffic you drive in, etc. I get 17-18 while pulling an open car trailer with a car on it. Terrain around here couldn't get much flatter.
Son has borrowed a couple of times for 100+ mile round trips, mostly freeway. He only gets around 18.
GM: Also persistent A/C problems, most models. Faulty evaporators and condensers, faulty routing of lines, etc. I hope they've gotten better. Also dealer service that I have dealt with is terrible for anything more complicated than an oil change. Your experience may vary.
2017, 5 1/2 years.
Oil changes about every 5k (15-20% remaining)
2 sets wipers incl rear
2 sets brakes incl rotors
3 air filters.
Actual MPG 20.5 indicated, 19.3 miles/gallons pumped over the 100k miles
1 rh running board (turned into a stump)
Front power port rewired to support dash cam
Plugs...
Does it stay on but disengage so you need to press the resume button, or does it drop out completely so you need to turn it on? There's an indicator light on the dash, looks like a clock. Does that go out or stay lit? If it stays lit you may have a sensitive brake light switch.
My '06 had a fuel pump control module located on the left rear frame rail near the tank and wheel kick-up. They are subject to corrosion / failure. I presume yours, also 2 gen, has the same. You might want to check that out before you drop the tank.
My '17 got to 97k, then a slight misfire on hard acceleration. Pulled out, they looked almost new. Used a standard 5/8 (15mm) plug socket (it's a 6-point) with the rubber grabber inside.
Only problem was #3 cyl, the end boot on the coil wouldn't come off the plug. Finally managed to grab it...
Moog system works better. The ears on the stamped steel guides too easily bent by a ham-****** mechanic. Plus I don't care for those bolts with one flat side.
That said, most shops do not tighten the bolts sufficiently, including and especially dealer service. Spec is for 258 ( !!! that's a...
Ditto on the Tekonsha with plug n play pigtail for earlier expys, and ditto on the '17 built-in (which I needed to add on my '17, using Forscan. And ditto on finding the blue brake lead bundled at the rear. PS mine told me the trailer's left blinker was O/D. That was a surprise!
No, that's not it. It is the female USB-B port into which you can plug a phone charger cable or audio device. It has a mounting hole in the console. Mine also failed, no longer provides power or allows input from external devices. It just stopped working.
