Upgrade from Sync 3 to newer system
I have a 2017 EL XLT and it seems to have a SYNC 1, with a bad APIM. Am I wrong about it being SYNC 1...it has 4" screen in black, blue and white screen. Bought Used from AutoNation with 53K miles, so I assume it was a bare-bone basic features rental. Thanks, Paul- ppurdom

2016/third gen electrical gremlins - SYNC, Backup camera, blower motor
Checked out truck for current accurate specifics... When going into Sync-Media it enters the menu for less than half second and exits right away. When trying Sync-Phone won't go in at all. (This is what I think was grayed out before). Still the same dynamic that permission seems removed...So...- ppurdom

I was on my 3rd trip this summer from Orange County to Grand Canyon. The truck seemed to be performing well mid-press accelerator up the mountain pass I-15, I had to ease up and not go 90+mph. wanted to stay around 80mph. Had exhaustion and pulled over, couldn't rest and went another hour. Next...- ppurdom

I thought I would share my experience. It started before the APIM. I could only open driver door by using inside latch. The other handle did not work. The Fab would not unlock. So, I thought (Cntr-Alt_Delete) well reset the door unlock code keys. Also of a sudden my Fab unlocked door and the...- ppurdom

Phone menu was there one day and gone the next.
Hi HavasuMike, did it start working on its own or did you replace it and then it worked for a short while. Either bit of information would be very interesting. I'm trying to understand why the APIM would be so fragile. I would guess bad voltage from the USB (but, why didn't they spend $.02-.05...- ppurdom

Phone menu was there one day and gone the next.
I'm having the same issue with the menu disapperaring/dis-engaging from the SYNC menu on my 2017 Expedition EL XL. I vaguely recall having bluetooth issues pairing wise. The USB in the console was not sharing data or power. This all happening a week after by driver's side door would only unlock...- ppurdom
