    Yes you are correct, I only was able to get the console, I'm guessing the wiring maybe there, but I bet the sensor is no where to be found. That's why I'm wondering if anyone else has tackled this before. Thanks for the reply.

    Before trying all of this try using tooth paste and some elbow grease. I know you think I'm being stupid, but try it before you knock it. BTW don't use a gel.

    I have a 98 Expy that does not have the temp or compass in the overhead console but I have another spare console with it in and would like to install it. I don't have any thing else but that, no sensors or additional wiring. Any one attempted this themselves? Thanks

    Knock Sensor replacement issues.

    That's one thing I thought a I might have to do. Might not get enough air/fuel to the bigger motor. Going to dry fit everything up to make sure I don't have any more surprises. I'm guessing I will have to buy a 5.4 knock sensor and replace the connector from the 4.6 sensor to make it work...

    So now I'm thinking I have a 5.4 bolted up in the truck now. Besides the sensor that I will have to replace with the 5.4 what else am I maybe looking at now for this? From what I can find the heads are the same between the 4.6 and 5.4 so my headers should work. I'm guessing the elctronics...

    I have an issue with installing my remaned 4.6 Romeo motor in my 98 Expy. The knock sensor from the old motor has a way bigger thread than the remaned hole.     Rebuilding it isn't the issue except for about 300 bucks or so I can get a remand from out of state with a warranty. Finally found some that might interest me. Now I'm wondering about how some of these places like cores in pieces?
