This is a well documented issue with these and other Ford vehicles. The problem is in contamination on the aluminum hood and lift gate. If you look around the forums, you'll see many threads on this issue.
That extra 14" would make a big difference in the way I load my long guns in to go to the range. I leave the third row down and have an extended Husky Liner cargo liner covering the third row. I still have to put my shotguns in at an angle to get the lift gate closed. A minor inconvenience...
Yep. Bought mine to haul my hobby stuff around. I added a lift and LT tires to make it ride more like a truck and less like grandma's Lincoln. I wish I would've gone with an EL for the extra room
The spark plug is two-piece, a terrible design prone to breakage. SP-507 is the Motorcraft number for the '07-08 Expys (black boots) and the SP-515 supersedes the SP-507 and is a one-piece plug. The SP-509 are for the '08-up 5.4 (brown boots) and will not fit older models. The boots will...
2009 was the MY they changed to the one piece sp509 spark plug, and supposedly fixed the cam phaser issues. So, yeah, 2010 had most of the issues addressed. You'll still find bubbling paint on the lift gate and hood, and I'd pay careful attention to the rockers.
I've had several 2-valve and...
It also pushes the front wheels rearward, just the geometry of the suspension. Once you put bigger tires and offset wheels on it, it isn't as noticeable. Every leveling kit on every vehicle with independent suspension does this, BTW.
Those are some great looking wheels, and your math is correct on the offset. I went from a 17x8 to a 17x9 and offset of +44 to +10, and my tires sit just outside the fender well with the factory flares. You should be pretty close to that.
Those are correct for the application. You should have straight brown boots like the one pictured.
I just ordered some SP509s off of Amazon, $24 for all 8. I just received them today, and they look authentic. We'll see whether they work this weekend.
So take the nuts off of the front lower strut mount, with a floor jack under the lower control arm, separate the upper ball joint from the spindle. Lower the floor jack to relieve spring pressure of coilover. Remove coilover, install spacer, reinstall coilover lower studs in lower control arm...
So...you're one of THOSE kind of people...
Take pictures to show what you're running up against. Every shock I can find for sale lists as fitting 03-17. The ReadyLift also lists as fitting the 03-17. The front spacers that comes with the kit are also marketed for the F-150 because, get this...
I buy a new Tundra every 3 years. Been doing that since 07. I'm getting ready to trade in my '14 CrewMax TRD with 35k miles. Trade-in agreement with dealer is for $32k. I paid $38k for it 4 years ago. All I've done to it is put on a set of tires out of preference and a bumper replacement grille...
