    2001 Expedition Sunroof issue

Mine was leaking because the trough thing was not in the correct position. Since the plastic parts with the rod on them were broken, somehow my trough was on the wrong side of the shade and just stayed all the way to the rear. I zip tied it in place when I put everything back together and I...

    2001 Expedition Sunroof issue

I tried all day today to "billy rig" mine because Ford wants $120 for the parts I showed above. I just zip tied it in place for now. I still can't use the moon roof but I am going to order the whole kit from the sunroof doctor and try to get it all fixed.

    2001 Expedition Sunroof issue

does your sunroof leak? I think I understand that part to be a trough to catch the water. Mine leaks so I had duct tape on it. I am hoping with that part back in place it won't leak inside any more.

    2001 Expedition Sunroof issue

I have mine all apart, some of the parts in that kit are what I need. the two plastic parts with the rod. P/N 500A65 & 500A64 in the diagram the ends are broken off of mine:

    2001 Expedition Sunroof issue

I'm going to bump this one. I've been searching for info on the factory sun roof for the 1st gen Expy's. Mine doesn't work but I would like to fix it. It also leaks when it rains. I'm going to pull the headliner and see what I can see.

    Dropping front axle

you know, it wasn't as bad as i thought. I also rebuilt the 9" diff in my 67 Mustang so my hands are well soaked in gearlube. Since the smell will last a while I might as well take apart another axle or two! 4.88's, now that's some serious gear ratio!

    Dropping front axle

thanks for weighing in, that's the kind of thing I read on some F150 forums. I don't want that. Mainly my wife drives it. She works for the School and only drives a mile or two a day. I only abuse it when we take some vacation time. I tow a 27' camper and do a little off road. Nothing too...

    Dropping front axle

From what I have read, the clutch type diff will not work because when the truck is not using the front axle the spider gears are spinning in opposite directions. The clutches are spring loaded and will be trying to engage when this is going on and will cause them to wear out prematurely as well...

    Dropping front axle

OK, let me PM you my mailing address so when you order it they can drop ship it to my house!:joke: seriously though I would love to. I have a limited slip (clutch type) from an 8.8 rear axle sitting in my garage but I have researched and it seems that it will not work properly in the front.

    Dropping front axle

that's what I was thinking too. I was afraid the axle was broke or things would be chewed up but other than the splines right at the end of the axle and some metal fines (which I can flush out) I think everything is okay.

    Dropping front axle

Dropping front axle (with pictures) my 2000 Expy has 4 wheel drive but my wife got stuck the other day in our yard when it was wet and muddy. I couldn't figure out why the front wasn't working. I had an F150 that had the vacuum control go bad but the Expy is full time 4x4. I jacked it up and...

Gear oil leaking from passenger end of front axel.. Advice?

I don't think my issue is just a seal. The axle shaft shouldn't be moving around freely. I am guessing the C-clip is broke or the axle is broken. I guess I will drop the axle so I can get the cover off and look in there. My wife got stuck in the mud since the front axle wasn't working so I'd...
