    Anyway, like so many people with this age of vehicle, many parts are no longer made.     I guess I should mention that the fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter and pump are about 10, 000 miles old, the COPs and plugs about 30,000, and the injectors are about less than 10,000 along with a reman engine. It runs great, except when it suddenly starts losing power.

    I have been told by multiple people that the GEM's need to be programmed to your truck. Not sure what happens if it isn't, but your issue sounds like it could be a ground related issue.

    33 hrs for R/R ??? I just had my 99's 5.4 replaced last year and the shop quoted me 21hrs for R/R. That 12hr difference would have been close to an additional $2,000 in labor for me. WOW.
