Thanks for sharing the good news, sir! Other members were spot on with the diagnosis . I overlooked the possibility of IWE install error
Since the truck was already at the mechanic's, did you have him listen to whatever that noise at startup was?
I think the guy owes...
Congratulations, sir. Your life just got a little more interesting :D Startup rattle is an extremely bad sign on this particular motor. Could you pay a couple dollars to a pro to properly diagnose that as a startup chain rattle? If it is a busted tensioner causing this, then your motor has just...
Basically trying to narrow down, since you also mentioned a recent spark plug change. A badly done spark plug change can result in those noises too.
However, make 100% sure that you also don't encounter that rattling sound for a couple seconds after a cold start.
I saw a couple posts recently regarding power folding mechanism failure. I'm here to tell you that 30 seconds of your time every 3 months can greatly lengthen the lifespan of your power folding mirrors. Refer to the picture below:
This is the close up view of the hinge area after power...
Got any code reader that reads B codes? or you can also use Forscan to see if there are any B codes stored. I once encountered a similar issue, and there was a B code stored in the system that pointed towards a correlation error in one of the mirrors. Fortunately for us, the memory correlation...
There's a super cheap way, and then there's an expensive way through Helm Inc. Go the cheaper way by looking up this on ebay: [insert model year] Expedition Service Manual
You will then be presented with a bunch of options. Go with the result that has a cd with Ford logo on it. Thereafter...
There's more to add about ceramic pads and heavier vehicles. Some smaller insurance companies might deny your front end collision claim if they find ceramic pads in your truck. Happened to a neighbor when I used to live in DC/NoVA area. The small insurance company was based out of NoVA also...
Number 1 on the pic you posted is the air intake. it looks like this from the other side:
The image above doesnt show the screen attachment in front of the blower intake.
Number 9 below is the screen I'm talking about:
You can possibly fashion a cabin filter and stick it in place of...
If this will be your first time tinkering with the tranny, then make sure you have the following tools handy:
^^^ the OTC 307-570, and:
^^^ an Irwin long reach offset pliers.
If you're good with tools, the above two units will enable you to work on a 6R tranny all day long without...
1- Use the button to extend the mirrors, however crooked they extend.
2- Fold both the mirrors by hand.
3- Use the button again to attempt powerfold.
4- Since the mirrors had already been folded by hand, both of the units will attempt to fold but will pop loudly instead.
5- You have now...
Slightly off topic, but could you bump up your budget a little bit and look for an Expy that was manufactured on or after August 22, 2011? They come with a different version of 6R80 transmission (commonly known as 6R80 with the one way clutch), and are a bit more reliable (tranny wise) than the...
Just did this on mine two days ago. Truck was pulling left under mild-to-hard braking conditions. Passenger-side front hose was the culprit in my case. Contrary to other people's experiences, I have never had a stuck caliper on a Ford truck before. Anyway, If you do have a hose issue and you end...
